Cold Raiders Kolguyev

Cold Raiders Kolguyev

Summary

I primarily recommend Cold Raiders: Kolguyev for players who enjoy a real struggle to survive. The Cold War never ended — but it did not continue the way we know it!

Description

What happened?
The peace negotiations meant to end the Cold War led to catastrophe. Someone on one side pressed that fateful button, and an immediate retaliatory strike came from the other side. The war ended before it truly began.

A few years after the nuclear disaster began to settle, the surviving people slowly emerged from hiding. Because of the lack of basic necessities, humanity continued right where it had left off. Countries and alliances no longer existed, but smaller groups tried to seize power for themselves. Some people joined these rival factions, while others chose to survive alone in this harsh new world.

Later, an organization calling itself the Federal Security Force appeared. In certain areas, they occasionally carried out purges and retaliatory operations. They struck out of nowhere and were clearly well-equipped.

Trust is rare here if you do not know someone. Different factions — Greens, Reds, and lone wolves — roam the region trying to survive. Everyone is searching for maps and information marked with clues and directions that may lead to better loot and valuable supplies.

Important – Please Read Before You Start!

This scenario is designed to be challenging. I've intentionally made every aspect more difficult, so it's best suited for players who enjoy a tough survival experience.

Starting Conditions
You begin with nothing but a bayonet.
Loot is extremely scarce.
Firearms are exceptionally rare. Within a 2–4 km² area, you may only find 3–4 weapons lying in the world—assuming another survivor hasn't already taken them.
There is no zoom, except through weapon optics.
There is no weapon HUD. Check your magazines manually.
Every weapon, piece of equipment, and item is authentic to 1991 or earlier.
Food is limited.
You must eat and drink, but survival is not about constant micromanagement.
If your food or water level drops below 30%, you will no longer recover from injuries until both levels are restored above 30%.

Survivors
Other survivors roam the island alone or in groups, and they may hunt you down.
AI survivors will loot weapons, magazines, and equipment from dead bodies.

Maps
Maps are extremely rare—but incredibly valuable.
If you find one, it may reveal:
Merchant ship locations, marked with purple icons along the coastline.
Dangerous areas, marked with question marks.
Supply crates containing food, weapons, and equipment.
Military documents and valuable intelligence that can be sold to the merchant ship.
Rare collectible items that can also be sold to the merchant ship.

Trading
Your primary currency is personal documents and valuables collected from fallen survivors.
The merchant ship only sells basic supplies, such as limited food and older ammunition. Weapons cannot be purchased.

Major Military Facilities
You may discover computers containing valuable military data.
Military installations are extremely dangerous. Enemy factions frequently occupy these locations, and the Federal Security Forces will aggressively eliminate intruders. If you see a red flare in the sky, run.

Vaults
Military computers may contain the coordinates of underground bunkers. If you discover one, you can use it to store your equipment.

However, other players can also discover and raid your bunker.

Planned Features
I would like to implement the following in future updates:
Make hideouts vulnerable to raids while still remaining reasonably secure.
Link ranks and XP to trading rewards. Since this scenario is based on Combat Ops, I haven't yet figured out how to implement this. If anyone has experience with it, I'd greatly appreciate your advice.

That's all for now. I'll continue refining and expanding the scenario over time.
Good luck, and happy surviving! :)
