Reflecting on 2025...
As 2025 has now come to a close, we want to take a moment to reflect on a year that marked significant milestones for both the Arma Reforger team and its community. From major updates to significant community contributions, the game and its community have continued to grow in meaningful ways.
By the numbers, 2025 was a record-setting year for Arma Reforger. The game surpassed 1.5 million copies sold, players logged over 96 million total hours played, and at its peak, we reached ~226,000 daily active users across all platforms. Over the course of the year, Arma Reforger was played by nearly 2.7 million unique users worldwide, with thousands of new mods added for players to enjoy on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
With those achievements in mind, we would like to revisit some of the moments that shaped the year and briefly talk about what the future holds for Arma Reforger.
Make Arma Not War 2025
It’s hard to believe that nearly a year ago, the first major announcement of 2025 marked the return of a familiar and much-loved competition: Make Arma Not War 2025. With a $100,000 prize pool, the modding contest drew more than 200 submissions from creators around the world across three categories, showcasing an incredible range of ideas and talent. Following a thorough judging process, 33 finalists were selected, with winners across all categories officially announced in November.
We would like to thank everyone who took part once again. The passion and creativity shown throughout the competition continues to define the Arma community, and we’re excited to see that same energy carry forward into the year ahead.
Modding Boot Camps and Workshops
Another key initiative this year was our efforts to better support modders with the Modding Boot Camps. Designed for both new and veteran modders, these sessions focused on helping participants learn how to build content using the Enfusion engine. The workshops covered core workflows, scripting, animation, and more, helping the next generation of modders bring their ideas to life.
We saw that this played an important role in lowering the barrier to entry for modding and in supporting both those taking their first steps as modders and those with more experience with new ideas. Either way, it helped contribute to some of the mods now available on the Workshop today.
Fire Support
In March, our first significant gameplay shift came with the 1.3 Major Update: Fire Support. For the first time, players saw the addition of the LAV-25 and BRDM-2, gunship helicopters, mortars, and building destruction, which fundamentally changed how the game was played. We also introduced the Elimination singleplayer scenario to show players what could be possible with our Scenario Framework, and overhauled a number of systems for the future of how Conflict would be played.
Reforger Rumble
Of course, we can’t forget the more lighthearted moment of the year with our Reforger Rumble April Fools’ Day video. While many of you wished it were a real feature, unfortunately, there are no plans to add it to the game. However, we thoroughly enjoyed sharing a laugh with the community and appreciated the good-hearted response.
PS5 Mod Support
In May, version 1.4 finally brought mod support to PlayStation 5, opening the doors to the in-game Workshop for PlayStation players. Modded game modes, assets, and custom content became fully cross-platform, letting players join up and share experiences with friends on PC and Xbox.
We know it felt like a long wait for some of you, but we were excited to finally welcome them and see PlayStation players jump into the world of Arma modding for the first time.
Kolguyev
In late October, many in the community were surprised when we "skipped" over 1.5 and released Update 1.6 instead. After several months of experimental testing, one of the largest updates to the game introduced the stunning new island of Kolguyev to all players. It also delivered a major overhaul to the Conflict HQC game mode, introduced the Operation Omega singleplayer campaign and Air Support scenario, and expanded the arsenal with new weapons, equipment, and gameplay systems.
With a change of this scale, the transition was not without its challenges. We closely followed community feedback and heard many of your concerns around how these changes affected gameplay and your experience. In response, we reintroduced an alternate option to play the legacy version of Conflict just before the end of the year. While there is still more to work on and improve, we remain committed to continuing performance optimization and gameplay adjustments to ensure the best possible experience moving forward.
Community Highlights
Throughout the year, we did our best to shine a spotlight on you, our splendid community. From cinematic gameplay clips and stunning screenshots to detailed guides, custom vehicles, maps, and scenarios, we loved showcasing the creativity coming from players across the board. We did this through Community Radars (COMRADs), photo competitions, video highlights, and server recommendations, all driven by the incredible energy you bring to Reforger.
Whether it was competitive multiplayer chaos in modes like King of the Hill, or cooperative missions through Workshop scenarios and Game Master sessions, you helped make 2025 a year packed with shared stories and unforgettable battles. We can’t wait to keep this going and see what you all cook up next.
Looking Ahead
As we head into 2026, development of the game will continue strongly forward. We’re nearing the end of the Roadmap that many of you so kindly ask about every day... and while our long-term focus will naturally begin to shift toward Arma 4, Arma Reforger isn’t being left behind. There’s still work to do and improvements to make.
We don’t have news to share yet on those upcoming features, but we are absolutely still working behind the scenes. At the same time, we’re continuing to improve what’s already there. We know not everything went entirely smoothly, but we are listening and adjusting, and we are well aware that we have a lot of work ahead of us to get Arma Reforger to a more performant state. We’re still reading your feedback across social channels, Discord, Feedback Tracker, and wherever else you share it, so please continue to send us your feedback through these channels.
And finally, we know we say it a lot, but we mean it every time: thank you. Thank you to every player, modder, and community member who helped make 2025 what it was. Your passion is what keeps us motivated, and we can’t wait to show you what’s next.
For now, stay tuned, and as always... We’ll see you on the battlefield. o7
