Custom mission that involves player attacking the island of Kolgujev. This mission supports up to 40 players. It might need an admin to increase or reduce the AI depending on the amount of players.
Description
By early February 1989, tensions between NATO and the USSR in the Barents Sea region have escalated following increased Soviet naval patrols, expanded radar coverage, and intelligence indicators of forward-deployed maritime strike assets. Kolgujev Island has been identified as a key enabler of Soviet control over sea lines of communication and early-warning coverage in the southern Barents Sea.
On 5 February 1989, higher headquarters authorized Operation FIRST STEP, a limited but deliberate action intended to seize key terrain on Kolgujev Island in order to disrupt Soviet maritime operations and establish a forward lodgment for follow-on forces.
Note this mission was created for the Task Force Dingo community but can be used for other groups or players.
