Summary
A dynamic single-player campaign in Kunar. Recruit your squad, run operations, and fight a war that remembers what you did. Built on Service Record.
Description
(Work in progress)
Tour of Duty turns Kunar into a living war for one Marine and his squad. Every battle is an operation chosen from the state of the war, and every result carries over: villages change hands, strongholds fall and rebuild, and your Service Record follows you the whole way.
REQUIRES
- Service Record
- Kunar
- Middle East Insurgents
OPTIONAL
- RHS: Status Quo, to fight as RHS US forces (pick USAF on the setup screen). Any other faction mod you load can be picked too
HOW A BATTLE GOES
- Setup screen: continue your career or start a new Marine, continue the war or start a new one, and pick your side and the enemy
- You start at FOB Blessing with your briefing
- Recruit your squad from the Marines waiting at the base. Look at one and pick Recruit
- E-1 to E-3: a fire team (3)
- E-4: two fire teams (7)
- E-5 and up: a full squad (12)
- Use Move out at the ammo crate next to you to insert near the objective
- Your squadmates keep their names, ranks and records through Service Record, shown over their heads and on your map
OPERATIONS
- Raid: clear an insurgent compound (often a known stronghold)
- Capture or Kill: a named cell leader and his guards
- Cache Search: find and destroy a weapons cache
- Defend the Outpost: hold a FOB, COP or OP against attack waves
A LIVING WAR
- 40 villages, FOBs, COPs and OPs across Kunar, each friendly, contested or hostile
- Every operation shifts enemy strength and civilian support, and villages can change sides
- Insurgent checkpoints and patrols in hostile villages near you. Clear one and it weakens, then refills over time
- 2 to 4 enemy strongholds in hostile ground. Destroy one and another forms elsewhere
- IEDs on your route, some watched by a triggerman
- Civilians go about their day, clear out before a fight, and in friendly villages may warn you about an IED
- Civilian casualties turn villages against you and go on your record
- FOBs, COPs and OPs are manned by Marines who hold their post
- Outposts you're nowhere near still take contact. You'll hear it on the radio
BUILT FOR XBOX
- Only what's near you is simulated live, inside one AI limit that keeps your squad and the fight first
- Consoles automatically use a lighter limit and shorter ranges
- Bodies far from you are cleared after a few minutes
COMING
- Briefing and debrief screens
- Choosing your operations from E-4 up
- Sending other platoons and companies on operations as a Captain and up
- More Middle East maps
