Summary
A persistent military career for single-player: serve as a Marine, Soldier, Navy corpsman or Airman, earn rank and real-world decorations, lead your squad, and see them out with a DD-214.
Description
Service Record follows one service member across every scenario you play: a Marine, a soldier, a Navy corpsman or an Airman. Promotions take time in service and performance. Decorations follow each branch's order of precedence. If you're killed, that record is closed for good and a new recruit reports in to take your place.
SERVICE BRANCHES
- Marine Corps, Army, Navy and Air Force, each with its own ranks, insignia, units, awards and ribbons
- Marine Corps and Air Force: a 13-man squad. Army: a 9-soldier squad with Alpha and Bravo teams. Navy: the corpsman with a Marine squad.
- A new career picks its branch on the Branch tab before the first battle ends (it starts from the faction you play)
- Transfers: enlisted can change branches once every 4 years, up to E-6. Officers and warrant officers once in a career, before O-4 (W-3).
- Awards stay as earned: a Marine Corps medal is still worn as a Marine Corps medal after you go Army. Rank, battles, history and veteran squadmates carry over.
SPECIAL OPERATIONS
- Marine Corps: Scout Sniper, Recon, Force Recon and MARSOC
- Army: 75th Ranger Regiment, Special Forces and Delta Force
- Navy: SEALs and DEVGRU. Air Force: Pararescue, Special Tactics and the 24th
- Special operators who change branches move to the matching unit (MARSOC to Special Forces, Delta to DEVGRU)
RANK
- Enlisted through Sergeant Major (or your branch's equivalent), with rank insignia
- Selected NCOs with a clean record choose a career path once on the Promotions tab: Commission (to four-star General), Warrant Officer (to CWO5) or stay enlisted
- Promotions need both battles survived and XP; a Silver Star or higher earns a meritorious promotion
- Promotion warrants and commissions with your date of rank
- Reenlist every four years for a bonus, or take an honorable discharge
AWARDS & DECORATIONS
- Valor: Medal of Honor, Navy Cross (Distinguished Service Cross, Air Force Cross), Silver Star, Bronze Star with "V", Commendation and Achievement Medals with "V"
- Three routes to valor: kills, lifesaving (treating and reviving wounded squadmates under fire), or both together. The Medal of Honor and Navy Cross can be earned once per deployment.
- Combat Action Ribbon (or your branch's combat badge) once per theater of war you see combat in, including lifesaving under fire
- Purple Heart, service and leadership medals, Good Conduct, unit citations, special duty ribbons
- A campaign medal for every Procedural Combat theater, with bronze campaign stars, plus real-world service and NATO medals
- Marksmanship badges, jump wings, tabs and special operations insignia, shown in your awards folder with the reason each was earned
- Award certificates with the ribbon and full citation
DEPLOYMENTS
- Every five battles is a deployment with its own operation name and theater
- Come home to a deployment summary and deployment ribbon
- Special duty between tours: recruiter, drill instructor, embassy guard or combat instructor
YOUR SQUAD
- A persistent roster with names, ranks, kills and ribbons; the highest ranks lead the fire teams
- Squadmates earn promotions, valor awards and Purple Hearts. Wounded may be medevaced; the fallen go on the memorial.
- Officers present awards to their squad, from the Achievement Medal at Captain up to the Bronze Star at Colonel; only generals can present the Silver Star and up
SERVICE RECORD SCREEN
- A full ribbon rack in order of precedence with stars and oak leaf clusters. Select any ribbon to read its citation.
- Stats, squad roster, Career History, after-action reports, letters from home and a DD-214 for everyone who leaves the service
- Your unit's insignia under your rank, and on every DD-214
- Tabs for Records, Promotions and Branch
- Opens after each battle, or anytime from the pause menu. On a controller, LB / RB jumps to the buttons.
LEAVING THE SERVICE
- Permadeath: a fallen service member keeps his rank and awards on the memorial
- Honorable discharge anytime, medical retirement after repeated wounds, or retire with honors after 20 years
COMPATIBILITY
- Designed for single-player on PC and Xbox. Your record is saved and carries across scenarios.
- Runs alongside other scenarios without changing their files
- Built and tested with Procedural Combat and Procedural Combat Middle East
