Plan a flight from a ground-control PC, launch an X-47B-style drone, and support your team through live cameras, night vision and thermal views. Manage a small autonomous fleet, follow aircraft on the map, and bring them back to the runway for servicing.
Source files are editable for creating more drone variants.
## Full description
Multi-Use Drones adds a fixed ground-control station and a reusable UCAV framework. The included aircraft uses an X-47B tester with a mission computer.
### Usage and Dev Info
Build a ground-control station through the supported faction’s normal base-building system, or place one in your scenario. Use the PC to deploy an aircraft through native vehicle placement beside a suitable runway. Conflict supplies pay for the station and aircraft.
Aircraft receive fleet labels automatically, with individual tabs and matching map colors. No further editor naming should be required.
Plan a waypoint or orbit using the in-game map, then choose altitude, speed and orbit radius. Launch, hold, resume, change orbit or return to base from the station.
Choose manual recall or a timed 2, 5, 10, 20 or 30-minute mission orbit followed by automatic return. Low fuel also triggers a return. Autonomous orders continue after the terminal closes.
Recovery follows the recorded departure runway in reverse and applies the parking brake at the stopping point. Once safely parked, use the ground-turnaround option to prepare for another departure when the surrounding area is clear. A long, unobstructed runway and clear recovery approach are required.
### Cameras and Support
Switch between forward, rear and freely aimed underside cameras. Sensor controls sit on the left, with aircraft and fleet controls on the right. Flight state, position and zoom information are visible over the feed.
A dedicated Mission section provides **Return to Base** and **Change Orbit** directly from camera view. The orbit map returns to the camera when you finish or cancel.
Camera features include:
- Expandable camera display and zoom up to 32x.
- Daylight, green night vision, white-hot and black-hot modes. (Incomplete)
- Adjustable image gain.
- Gimbal locking through a double-click on the camera picture.
- Camera-only RT/R2 lock shortcut and controller focus zoom.
- Mouse-wheel zoom.
- Friendly infantry and vehicle indicators, subject to visibility and game streaming.
The radio beacon provides airborne relay support. When safely parked and connected to the faction radio network, it can also provide a respawn point. Control it from the terminal, camera page or supported vehicle interaction.
The optional enemy radio jammer reduces the transmitting range of nearby enemy radios while preserving friendly radios. Affected ranges recover when the jammer stops or moves away. Scenario authors can configure or disable jamming.
Beacon and jammer activity have separate **green active / red inactive** indicators in camera view.
### Maintenance and damage
Aircraft begin with three wrenches in their accessible inventory. Use native repair tools and nearby supplies for maintenance, and native fuel equipment for refueling.
### Multiplayer
Each drone reserves control for its active operator, preventing another player from accidentally replacing its mission.
Closing the terminal, leaving the station, dying or disconnecting releases control. Friendly operators can still observe camera feeds. Fleet and camera streaming are managed per viewer.
### Framework and editable source
The original framework is provided under **APL-SA** for noncommercial Arma modifications and derivatives. The companion editable package includes Blender files, import resources, scripts and a developer guide.
Native payload attachment slots and a server-side installation/release contract provide a starting point for additional aircraft roles. The supplied reconnaissance aircraft has empty bays. Armed packages require their own weapon behavior, arming, clearance, attribution and supply integration.
