Summary
First, thank you to Johnny Kerner for creating Freedom Fighters. This addon builds on his game mode and its existing recruitment, construction and battle systems.
Description
Features
- Build persistent defensive positions: Place up to four FIA defense flags per base or factory, costing 500 supplies each. Positions follow the facility’s actual layout—not simply a radius around its center—and can extend up to 15 metres beyond its boundaries.
- Assign your recruits: Each defensive position supports up to four soldiers, allowing a maximum of 16 assigned defenders per facility.
- Reorganize as needed: Take defenders back into your squad free of charge, move them to another defensive position and assign them again as the threat changes. Recruits can also travel with you to another base or factory and join its garrison.
- Keep your squad slots available: Assigned defenders do not count towards your personal subordinate limit. The normal Freedom Fighters limit applies again when you recruit them back into your squad.
- Check your garrison on the map: The Freedom Fighters map panel displays the current number of assigned defenders and available capacity—for example, 4/16. Living defenders remain counted while streamed out.
- Recruit outside the tent: Recruitment tents offer two candidates at a time outside, avoiding the difficulties AI soldiers often have leaving the tent. Hiring a candidate supplies another; normal recruitment costs and squad limits remain in place. Recruitment tents are also available at factories.
- Persistent defenders: Living defenders and their equipment survive server restarts. Fallen soldiers are not automatically replaced; players must recruit and assign replacements.
Defenders activate when players, enemies or an active battle require their presence, allowing facilities to be defended without keeping every garrison permanently simulated.
This is a Freedom Fighters addon. Reoccupation is not required but fully compatible. FF - Garrisons is intended as a temporary solution until Freedom Fighters provides its own equivalent functionality.
