REQUIREMENTS
- SagesAH1Z and WCS_Armaments
- SOFLAM Integration Core <- REQUIRED, please subscribe
Version 2.0.0 and the Core were rebuilt together: update BOTH. Tested against
WCS_Armaments 8.3.0.
RVX Core is no longer used. It stopped compiling with current WCS Armaments,
and in Reforger one failing mod takes the whole script module down. Everything
we used from it now lives in our own Core.
Runs next to our AH-64D mod. Both aircraft carry their own laser code, and the
SOFLAM device is provided once by the Core.
HOW TO USE
1. Load laser-guided ammunition: AGM-114L.
2. Set the same four-digit laser code (each digit 1-8) on the aircraft and on
the SOFLAM. In the cockpit the digits are softkeys along the bottom of the
right MFD, "LSS CODE" page, left to right.
IMPORTANT: leave the FIRST digit alone. The aircraft can change all four,
but the SOFLAM only the last three. Change the first one in the cockpit and
the codes can no longer be matched.
3. Select the guided missile as gunner. With a matching code and an active
laser, the missile follows the mark. Without one it goes where the sight
is pointing.
4. Pick an attack profile with the WCS fire-mode cycle key:
DIR fast and flat, shortest time to target
LOBL scales with range, shortest minimum range, gentle arc when far
LO moderate climb
HI top-down, steepest impact, longest minimum range
Every SOFLAM mark shows up in the gunner's sight: green and blinking for
the code dialled in, static red for all others. A marker goes dark when
terrain blocks the selected profile or the target is out of range.
The gunner also gets a thermal view in the sight, and the SOFLAM operator gets
the visible IR beam and the NVG / thermal modes from the Core.
INCLUDED VARIANTS
- AH-1Z with 16x AGM-114
- AH-1Z with AGM-114 and Hydras (16x38 and a 16x39 Riptide loadout)
RECENTLY FIXED (2.0.0)
- Attack modes reach the server again. WCS 8.3.0 moved the cycle key; the
screen switched modes but every shot flew DIR. The mode that flies now
always follows the one on the screen.
- Double explosion on lofted shots: the explosion is shown at the warhead, not
at an old terrain contact up to 215 m earlier.
- The black-hot thermal filter no longer needs RVX Core.
- The last RVX names are gone. The Hellfire ammo prefab is now
"Ammo_Missile_AGM-114L_Laser_AH1Z"; its GUID is unchanged, so saved loadouts
and missions keep working.
STATUS
Work in progress, and honestly so: missiles fly and guide, but the hit pattern
still needs work.
