ATG Displays adds handheld and mounted display devices, and the shared machinery that draws
a map onto one. It owns the surfaces; what goes on them beyond the map - logistics, vitals,
vehicle instruments, a UAV feed - belongs to the mods that stack on top of it.

THE MILITARY ISSUE TABLET

A ruggedised handheld map terminal, carried in a gadget slot and raised like any other
gadget. While it is held it shows the map, in one of two presentations the player chooses.

The device does not own a map of its own. There is one map entity per world, shared with the
paper map and with the Game Master editor's, so the tablet borrows it: it takes the map when
it is free, gives it up without argument when something else takes it, and takes it back on
its own once that lets go.

A Game Master opening the editor will therefore blank every tablet in play for as long as
they are in it. That is intended rather than a fault.

PLAYER POSITIONS ON A SCREEN

This mod owns the surfaces and draws the map. It does not decide who appears on one - a
mod stacking on top of it does, and ATG Signals is that mod for player positions.

Load ATG Signals AFTER this mod. It reaches across to this one, so it can only do that
where this mod compiled first, and it writes which side it landed on to the log once at
world start. With no such mod loaded a screen shows the map and no positions, which is
this mod on its own rather than a fault.

CLIENT SETTINGS

On the ATG tab of the settings menu, which belongs to ATG Core. Without ATG Core loaded
ahead of this mod the row is not shown and the default applies.

Draw the map on device screens (default on). The map is rendered onto the device's own
screen material, so it is read off the model and everything around it stays visible. With
it off, the map is drawn into a panel on screen instead.

It is a client setting because the cost of rendering a second surface is paid by the machine
that renders it, and one player wanting it while another does not is the intended outcome.

SERVER OWNER SETTINGS

None. This mod has no JSON of its own; its log verbosity follows ATG Core's.
