Flight Model Overhaul
Helicopters now slow into turns and accelerate out — creates natural banking arcs instead of sharp snaps
Turn speed reduction is mass-based: light helis (Little Bird ~2000kg) maintain ~70% speed through turns, heavy helis (Chinook ~11000kg) drop to ~38%
Enhanced nose pitch: heli dips nose when accelerating, raises nose when braking
Increased bank angle during turns for more dynamic, realistic flight visuals
Maximum turn rate clamped to prevent instant heading snaps — smooth banking at all times
All flight improvements apply to both CAS patrol AND transit flights (LZ, LN, HALO, RTB)
Attack helicopters fly 20-30% faster in straight-line flight
Attack Helicopter / CAS Improvements
Free roam helis now properly detect and engage enemies they fly over
Target search centered on helicopter position during free roam (was incorrectly searching around the next waypoint)
Post-attack cooldown no longer blocks target reacquisition during free roam patrol
Heli only attacks occupied enemy vehicles — empty parked vehicles are ignored
Friendly vehicles and infantry are never targeted
Mandatory line of sight — heli will not fire through buildings or terrain
Memory system: if enemy ducks behind cover, heli remembers last position and attacks that spot
Paired Marker System (LZ1 → LZ2)
Place "LZ1" (or just "LZ") as pickup point, "LZ2" as drop-off destination
Place "LN1" (or just "LN") as pickup landing, "LN2" as drop-off landing
Mix and match: "LN1 - OSCAR" (land pickup) + "LZ2 - OSCAR" (rope drop-off) works
Named markers pair by suffix: "LN1 - OSCAR" only matches "LZ2 - OSCAR", not "LZ2 - DELTA"
Flexible naming: "LZ1-OSCAR", "LZ1 - OSCAR", "LZ1 OSCAR" all work the same
After dropping troops at LZ2/LN2, heli automatically RTBs to helipad
If no paired marker exists, old behavior is preserved (RTB directly after ready)
HALO (HL) unchanged — single marker, jump point
CAS unchanged — single marker, attack patrol
Multiple helis are now called by using radio multiple times (LZ2 no longer means "2 helis")
LP Waypoint Fix
Fixed issue where LP markers close to the start point were being skipped during climb-out
Heli now always follows LP1 → LP2 → LP3 → LP4 → LP5 → LZ in correct order regardless of physical distance
Return path follows highest to lowest: LP5 → LP4 → LP3 → LP2 → LP1 → helipad
Reduced waypoint pass-detection radius from 280m to 80m to prevent false skips
Helipad / Spawning
Master Helipad now has faction selection (None/US/USSR/FIA) in GM properties
Faction is applied immediately on first spawn — no more "spawn empty, re-select faction" workaround
Changing faction on helipad auto-respawns the helicopter with correct crew
Helicopter rearms all weapons (rockets, AA missiles, guided missiles) on RTB landing
Guided Missile System
Added Deko_AirToAirMissileComponent — heli fires AA missiles at enemy aircraft
Added Deko_HeliGuidedMissileComponent — heli fires guided missiles at ground targets
Added Deko_GroundToAirMissileComponent — ground vehicle AA launcher
Added Deko_GroundGuidedMissileComponent — ground vehicle guided missile launcher
Added Deko_GroundATMissileComponent — ground vehicle AT direct-fire missile
All missile components have adaptive update rates (fast when tracking, slow when idle)
Auto-shutdown when ammo depleted (zero CPU cost)
Server-only execution — clients do nothing
Mandatory line of sight — missiles never fire through terrain or buildings
95-100% accuracy with natural per-shot variance
Remembered target position allows blind fire at last known location (configurable chance)
Full rearm on RTB landing at helipad
Server Performance Optimization
Removed WITH_OBJECT flag from all sphere queries — no longer scans trees, rocks, and buildings (thousands of unnecessary entities eliminated)
Added pre-filter that only passes vehicles and characters to the target evaluation callback
Cached raycast exclude arrays — eliminates ~40 garbage array allocations per second per helicopter during hover/landing
Cached vehicle occupant check array for CAS target scanning
Broad target search runs every 1.5s during free roam (was 3s) for better responsiveness without excessive load
Missile components auto-shutdown their update loops when ammo is depleted — zero ongoing CPU cost
No background scripts running when helicopter is idle on helipad
