Description
Ar-Rahhaliyah is a small town located in western Iraq, in Al Anbar Governorate. It sits along the Euphrates River, which runs through much of Anbar and supports many of the region’s settlements.
Rahhaliyah became known during the Iraq War because it sat within the Sunni insurgency areas of Al-Anbar.
During the mid-2000s:
The town and surrounding region saw insurgent activity.
U.S. and Iraqi forces conducted patrols and security operations nearby.
It was part of the wider Anbar conflict zone, which included places like Fallujah and Ramadi.
