SHS Modular Framework

SHS IVAS is an integrated battlefield-awareness system designed to give players useful tactical information without turning the game into an arcade-style wallhack.

How Hostile Tracking Works
SHS IVAS does not provide permanent live enemy tracking.
A hostile that is personally detected and confirmed through line of sight can receive live IVAS presentation.
Once sight is lost:
Live tracking stops.
The system freezes the contact at its last known position and begins reducing its confidence until the information eventually expires.
Remote contacts received from squad members, UAVs, K9s, or other sensors remain tactical intelligence and do not provide through-wall live silhouettes.
Friendly & Civilian Identification
Friendly forces can be identified using role-based IFF markers such as:
RFL — Rifleman
AR — Automatic Rifleman
MED — Medic
SL — Squad Leader
JTAC — JTAC
Players can manually select their tactical role, while IVAS can also infer a fallback role when one has not been selected.
Civilians are handled separately from hostile contacts and are intentionally identified so players can recognize non-combatants and avoid accidental engagements.
Tactical Data Link
Shared contacts are squad/group scoped by default.
This means one squad does not automatically receive the entire battlefield picture from every other friendly element.
Cross-group intelligence sharing can be explicitly enabled as the system continues to expand.
Remote Camera Feeds
Authorized UAV, K9, and future remote camera sources can be displayed directly inside the IVAS through a Picture-in-Picture feed.
The display can identify:
Camera/source type
Source callsign
Operator or handler
Current link quality
Remote feeds are also affected by Signal Degradation.
As the connection worsens, players may experience:
reduced feed FPS
reduced resolution
static/interference
frame skipping
image instability
weak-signal warnings
complete signal loss
automatic reconnection when signal returns
Console Support
A major focus of this testing round is complete controller accessibility.
Normal IVAS functions are being moved into the SHS radial menu so console players do not require keyboard commands or PC-only shortcuts.
This includes control over:
IVAS
visor
Night Vision
Thermal
Friendly IFF
Civilian IFF
hostile tracking
Tactical Roles
Data Link
Remote Feed
contact filtering
contact detail
HUD presentation

What We Need Tested
Please focus on:
Multiplayer synchronization
Friendly IFF accuracy
Civilian identification
Hostile acquisition
LOS loss / last-known-position behavior
Contact clutter and priority
Squad Data Link isolation
Tactical Role selection
Remote UAV/K9 feeds
Signal degradation
Feed loss/reconnection
Radial-menu/controller usability
Performance during larger firefights
Any incorrect silhouettes or through-wall tracking
NV/Thermal/FPGPNVG regressions
If something looks wrong, report exactly what you were doing when it happened.
Screenshots, video clips, logs, and reproduction steps are extremely helpful.

Important
This is the first round of testing for the expanded SHS IVAS system.
Things will change.
Things will break.
Somebody will probably find a way to make the tactical dog do something we never intended.
That is exactly why we are testing it. 😂
