Summary
Melee combat and armor framework.
- Light/heavy attacks

1st/3rd person view + Multiplayer support.
Description
1. Controls:
- Light attack uses the "fire weapon" keybind - LMB on PC by default.
- Heavy attack uses the "melee attack" keybind - Middle mouse button on PC by default.
Controllers fully supported.
2. Fully implemented melee weapon types:
- One-handed - primary slot
- One-handed - secondary slot (including all base game bayonets)
- Two-handed (sledgehammer, halberd and spear)
3. Shields:
- Shields block projectiles and melee attacks
- Can be used with one-handed melee weapons and pistols
- When there is no compatible weapon held in hand, shield rests on the back of the character
4. Extra features:
- One-handed light attacks are usable with a gadget held in left hand
- Cutting weapons and heavy hammers deal very high damage to trees (~10 cuts to destroy a big tree)
- Armor can be configured to protect VS melee damage
- Custom melee weapon positions when sheathed (at the belt and on the back)
5. How to access MCE weapons/armor?
Mod adds realistic modern melee weapons and shields to US & USSR factions in Conflict/Game Master modes
In addition, medieval/fantasy weapons and shields are available:
- In the included FFA test custom map (Singleplayer & 1v1)
- From the CIV faction arsenal in Game Master mode
4 armor pieces that reduce incoming melee damage can also be obtained from US & USSR arsenals
6. Custom animations:
For two-handed and one-handed melee weapons:
- Idle (standing, crouch, prone)
- Weapon switching (supports prone)
- Cut and stab attacks
For shields:
- Melee one-handed and pistol animations fully supported
WARNING:
- MCE melee weapon animations will not work with raised or ADS
- MCE might not be compatible with mods that change the character animation workspace (player_main) or animation graphs
Parameters of light/heavy attack can be configured in SCR_MCE_MeleeWeaponProperties component of each weapon prefab:
- Damage
- Attack speed
- Range
- Hitbox size
- Physics impact strength
- Animation type (currently cut/smash or stab)
- Sound effect (bayonet or blunt hit)
Custom FFA test map features:
- Static NPCs act as target dummies - when hitting them with a melee weapon, all damage calculations will be displayed in the console log (while playing in Enfusion Workbench)
- All MCE weapons can be picked up from the table for testing
