Grid Search Practice

by Allen Krause
Grid Search Practice

Summary

Practice map reading with rotating scavenger hunts: find 4–8 unusual props using eight-digit grid references and visual clues within an 8.5 km radius.

Description

Turn a standard Arma Reforger scenario into a shared navigation exercise.

After a player spawns, the server places 4–8 household or workshop props around the starting area. System chat gives each target's eight-digit grid reference and a plain-language visual description. Find the objects within 6 meters to mark them found. When the group completes a round, a new set appears around the players' current area.

The item pool includes ordinary furniture and uncommon finds such as a gold-colored toilet, a dental chair, and a blacksmith's anvil. The clues describe the objects without giving away their prefab names.

Defaults: 4–8 targets per round; 8.5 km maximum distance from the round center; 6 m find radius. The server manages target placement and shared progress.

Compatibility: PC scenarios using SCR_BaseGameMode. No scenario component placement is required. The addon starts automatically in compatible scenarios while enabled, so use it in a practice session.

PC script validation passed; live gameplay has not yet been smoke-tested.
