Hands On
by VAST_MOD
1.9.1
1.9.1: Under-barrel launchers, and a fix for long shots. With the under-barrel grenade launcher chosen, Hands On now works just like with the rifle: poses including blind fire over the head, canting, sway and arm stamina. Switching between rifle and launcher keeps the pose going. Workshop launchers built on Arma's launcher base get it too. Grenades keep Arma's recoil, and client and server agree on where they go. Fixed: holding your breath also took the sight's range setting out of the weapon (since 1.8.2), so long shots landed low - an SVD at 1000 m about 18 m. The aim still stands still, the range setting now stays.

1.9.0
1.9.0: Arma's own recoil. Hands On no longer replaces the recoil - every weapon kicks and climbs with Arma's own recoil, the one its maker gave it (Workshop weapons included), per weapon, stance and aim. Our part comes on top: the admin's kick and climb sliders and presets (Medium = exactly Arma's recoil, measured 97-104 % in every posture), and attachments you mount make the weapon heavier, so it kicks a little less (at most 20 %; the magazine, the parts a weapon comes with and parts with their own recoil effect - suppressors and brakes with Arma's or the mod's values - don't count, so nothing counts twice). Attachments keep their pros and cons for sway and tired arms. Sway, stamina, poses and canting are unchanged.

1.8.9
1.8.9: Recoil climb like Arma's. Every shot now lifts your aim and it stays there - after a pause, after single shots and after a burst alike - you pull it back down yourself, exactly like Arma's own recoil. Before, most of the climb came back by itself after a short pause, so slow single shots barely moved the aim (with 1 s between shots only a quarter of Arma's climb). Measured in the game with the same rifle: Hands On now climbs 0.28-0.30 deg per shot, Arma 0.28-0.29, no matter how long you wait between shots.

1.8.8
1.8.8: Admins can now set how much tired arms swing the weapon in each posture - six new sliders right under "Tired-arms sway": crouched, prone, rested on cover, lying on cover, on the bipod, lying on the bipod (100 % = as much as standing, 0 % = none). New defaults: crouched 60 %, prone 35 %, rested on cover 25 %, lying on cover 20 %, on the bipod 15 %, lying on the bipod 10 %. Fixed: lying down with your arms and your sprint stamina both empty, the weapon could swing less than with tired arms alone - now the stronger of the two counts in every posture, nothing doubles.

1.8.7
1.8.7: The hand tremor is gone. Instead your arm stamina now works on the aim like Arma's stamina: down to 60 % on the bar nothing changes, below it the weapon swings with your breath - up and down, sideways in a figure eight - a little more and a little faster the emptier your arms get, until at 0 % it moves like Arma's with an empty stamina (without the breathing sound). If your sprint stamina already makes it sway more, only Arma's counts - nothing doubles. Crouched 60 %, prone 21 %, rested 15 %, lying on cover 10 %, lying on a bipod 5 %. Holding your breath still stops it. Admins: "Hand tremor" is now "Tired-arms sway". Grips and suppressors no longer have a tremor bonus.

1.8.6
1.8.6: Fix - on busy servers some shots had no recoil: only about every 5th shot kicked, the rest flew straight and the climb reset in the middle of a burst. When several players carried the same weapon, their copies of it disturbed each other's recoil. Now every weapon keeps its own recoil, only the weapon in your hands runs it, and every shot is decided by what the weapon really has - every shot kicks, also with many identical rifles around you. Also: weight, suppressor and attachments take less off the kick (the weight at most about 20 %, everything together at most 35 %), so heavy suppressed rifles no longer feel almost recoil-free.

1.8.5
1.8.5: Fix - every shot keeps its recoil, whatever the server admin sets. With "Posture and rest" above about 133 %, the recoil on a rest or the bipod went to zero and above that even pulled the aim down; now a posture or attachment can at most halve its effect again, never take the recoil away (default settings were not affected). Also fixed: in the one moment an admin switches "Hands On recoil" off, a single shot could have no recoil.

1.8.4
1.8.4: Fix - holding your breath no longer takes away recoil (it did with Arma's own recoil, e.g. when a server uses it), and every shot now ends the held breath: one calm shot, never a calm burst. New: your arms recover twice as fast in low ready, high ready or with the weapon lowered (Arma's double Ctrl too) - not while sprinting. While you hold your breath, a thin white line above the arm stamina bar shows how much breath is left; it goes with the bar (the admin switch for the bar turns the line off too).

1.8.3
1.8.3 (PvP fix): Hold breath stays strong but fair. The aim now settles in over 0.6 s before it stands completely still, how long you can hold it depends on your arm stamina (6 s with fresh arms, 2.4 s with empty arms - sprinting no longer shortens it), and holding it tires your arms twice as fast.

1.8.2
1.8.2: Hold breath (Shift while aiming) now holds the aim completely still - also Arma's own breathing sway is taken out while you hold it, with any optic, standing, crouched, prone and after sprinting. Before, the scope kept breathing. The stamina bar now shows only your arm stamina: sprinting and jumping no longer empty it, so it tells you when to come off the sights before your hands shake.

1.8.1
1.8.1: Aimed sway settles cleanly. After a quick turn with a red dot or holo sight the weapon no longer swings past the centre and settles in - the dot comes straight back to the centre, as quickly as before (about 0.4 s). Zoomed optics come back the same way. Sway from the hip and while walking is unchanged.

1.8.0
1.8.0: Workshop weapons and attachments. Our recoil now reaches 9 in 10 of 2,534 tested Workshop weapons (was 8 in 10). Workshop weapons get the right class from their name in any spelling, and an unknown rifle that fires only by hand counts as a bolt-action, one firing a pistol cartridge as an SMG. Attachments now also work on Workshop weapons whose ammo data cannot be read, many more Workshop suppressors and grips are recognised, a brake under a suppressor no longer counts twice, and with the under-barrel launcher selected the rifle's recoil stays right. No double kick on weapons that keep Arma's own recoil, and none next to another mod that changes Arma's recoil (while ours is on, Arma's stays off). Stamina bar fixed: next to other mods it could hide your whole HUD; new admin switch to turn it off. Admin page: only the host, #login admins and the server's admin list (no Game Masters, no plain players). Key category renamed "Hands On - Keys".

1.7.1
1.7.1: Suppressors now have an advantage: 10 % less kick, 10 % less climb and 10 % less hand tremor. Instead of more sway they make the weapon front-heavy: your arms tire 10 % faster while aiming. Workshop attachments now get the same pros and cons as Arma’s own, whatever their name: every suppressor Arma treats as one, Russian DTK brakes, compensators, RVG and other vertical grips, stocks and under-barrel launchers.

1.7.0
1.7.0: Bodycam Reforger is now called Hands On - same mod, same Workshop page, your server settings stay. Stamina: aiming uses it up - fastest standing with a heavy weapon, slower crouched and prone, slowest lying on a rested bipod (only a bipod that rests on something counts); your hands only tremble when it runs low (never lying on a rested bipod), and holding the breath now stops the tremor and calms the sway clearly. A stamina bar sits bottom left (green to red, hidden when full, next to another mod's stamina bar if there is one); switching weapons no longer gives fresh arms. Recoil per weapon class: admins set kick and climb for rifles, SMGs, MGs, DMRs, pistols, shotguns and bolt-action rifles, or pick a preset Light / Medium / Heavy (Medium = the full recoil, Light 30 % less, Heavy 30 % more); heavy bolt-action rifles now push back more than they rise. Attachments have pros and cons: muzzle brakes and compensators cut kick or climb, foregrips steady the aim and calm the tremor by 10 %, stocks cut the arm fatigue by 10 %, suppressors, under-barrel launchers and bipods make the weapon front-heavy. The admin page in the pause menu is only shown to admins, and every setting explains in plain words what it does and its default.

1.6.2
1.6.2: Fixes from player reports with forward grips. Canted carry to the right: the left forearm no longer goes through the magazine - the weapon is canted 55 degrees instead of 70 and held a bit lower and closer. Canting to the right from the hip: the left hand stays on the handguard or foregrip in turns and steps (before up to 8 cm off) - the weapon still moves 8 cm out to the side and now comes a bit back and down. Leaning in every pose: the lean no longer throws the weapon up or down while it comes in or goes out, the left hand stays on its grip (the weapon comes only as close to the body as the arm needs), canted and leaning left the stock stays out of the neck, and leaning left ends blind fire round the corner. Tested with vanilla rifles, the GP-25 and Workshop rifles with different foregrips, and over the network: other players see every hold within a centimetre.

1.6.1
1.6.1: Fixes from player reports. Rocket launchers keep Arma's own handling (no sway or tremor of ours): lock-on launchers like the Stinger or Igla lock on fast helicopters as without this mod - tested over the network, every pass of a helicopter at 216 km/h 350 m away locked. Hold breath reworked: no more jolt or fast shaking when you let go - the muzzle rises and sinks with a few slow breaths, always the same way, as long as you held your breath (6 s held = 6 s). Blind fire leaning left (Ctrl + X + lean left): the right arm no longer goes into the body for other players, the left hand stays on the handguard.

1.6.0
1.6.0: Blind fire over the head (Ctrl + X) reworked - the weapon is held level over the head with both hands, so the bullets go straight ahead over cover instead of into the sky; the left hand stays on the handguard while you turn, walk or look up and down; the weapon shows in your view (your eye goes a little back under it); looking down, the hold comes upright in front of the chest. Also in this update (1.5.3): admin settings stay after a server restart. Tested against Arma Reforger 1.9 Experimental.

1.5.3
1.5.3: Admin settings stay after a server restart - the server keeps them in its profile folder (profile/bcr/settings.txt) and now reads the file back after every save. The admin page says whether they are saved; after Save the admin gets a short message, and if the host gives the server no write access to its profile folder, the page and the message say the settings only last until the next restart. Also in this update (1.5.2): a slider a tiny rounding error away from its step is no longer refused; weapon physics keeps working with Arma 1.9's magazine repacking; a Workshop magazine with a broken ammo setup can no longer cause a script error. Tested against Arma Reforger 1.9 Experimental.

1.5.2
1.5.2: Stability update, tested against the Arma Reforger 1.9 Experimental (1.9.0.10) - single player, dedicated server and hit registration. Admin page: a slider that ended a tiny rounding error away from its step (e.g. next to 0) was refused by the server, which then used the default instead - every value is now rounded to the slider's step before it is sent and saved. Weapon physics now finds the bullet through Arma's base magazine class, so it keeps working with 1.9's magazine repacking, and a Workshop magazine with a broken ammo setup can no longer cause a script error.

1.5.0
1.5.0: Pose offsets for admins. In the pause menu → "Bodycam Reforger" the server's admin can now move every pose – high ready, blind fire over the head and leaning left / right, round the corner, point shooting left / right, canted carry left / right – sideways, up / down, forward / back (up to 15 cm) and roll it (up to 30°). Blind fire round the corner also gets its own turn: 90° = fully across the body, 0° = the normal hold straight ahead (75° as before). It works in the player's view (+ right is always to the right on screen), applies live to every player on the server, also late joiners, and the bullets still leave along the barrel. Move a pose, walk and turn on the server and check the hands stay on the weapon; "Defaults" puts every pose back.

1.4.6
1.4.6: Blind fire round a corner (Shift + Mouse 5 | RB + D-pad left) is turned 75° instead of 85°: stock and grip come a little further back and the whole weapon sits further right; both hands stay on the weapon when you turn, strafe or look up and down. A Shift tap no longer lowers the weapon (Arma's low ready on the keyboard). Low ready stays on Ctrl + Mouse 4 | RB + L3, Arma's lowered weapon on a Ctrl double-click; holding Shift still sprints.

1.4.5
1.4.5: Blind fire round a corner (Shift + Mouse 5 | RB + D-pad left) now holds the weapon across the body with straight arms, the muzzle round the left corner; both hands stay on the weapon when you turn, strafe or look up and down, and it eases back to the normal hold when you look steeply up or down. Blind fire round the RIGHT corner (Shift + Mouse 4 | RB + D-pad right) is removed – the crossed arms looked twisted, and a proper right-hand version would need Arma's animations changed. Blind fire over the head + lean right now shows the magazine like leaning left, and over the head the weapon eases to the normal hold when you look steeply down.

1.4.4
1.4.4: keyboard and mouse keys work again. Since 1.4.1 (controller support) the mod's key combinations on PC did nothing – cant (Alt + Mouse 5 / 4), canted carry, high / low ready, blind fire, point shooting and blind fire round a corner; only the controller worked. Fixed and checked with real key presses for every key. Keys you rebound yourself in Settings → Controls stay as they are. Hold breath (Shift) works while aiming. Poses: blind fire round a corner holds the weapon further out, the muzzle tip shows in your view, and the support hand stays on the weapon when you turn or strafe fast; to the right (arms crossed) it is now as steady as to the left. Blind fire + lean right: the left hand grips the front of the handguard.

1.4.3
1.4.3: poses and the cant now combine. Lean in any pose (also Ctrl + Q / E); blind fire + lean takes the weapon round the corner; cant + lean the same way reaches further. The cant keys pick the side of point shooting (now also canted to the left) and of the canted carry (now also to the right); started while canted, they take that side. A cant key still ends high / low ready and blind fire, aiming ends any pose.

1.4.1
1.4.1: player feedback on the poses. High ready is new: muzzle up, the support hand now stays on the handguard (it slid onto the magazine), also while leaning. Every pose keeps its place while you lean, also with a part lean (Ctrl + Q / E). Blind fire over the head is rolled 4° to the left for a freer view and lifts its muzzle clear of a parapet edge - no more twitching in trenches. Canted + leaning, the support hand stays on the handguard. The newest pose or cant key wins - no odd mixed holds. New: blind fire round a corner without leaning (Shift + Mouse 5 / 4) and a canted carry (Alt + Middle mouse). New: controller support - every key has a controller default (RB + button, Arma's standard controller layout), the admin page works with a controller, and each player rebinds all keys in Settings > Controls > Bodycam Reforger. Added Discord Early Community Link

1.4.0: poses every player sees - high ready (Ctrl + Mouse 5), low ready (Ctrl + Mouse 4), blind fire (Ctrl + X, Q / E round the corner), point shooting (Ctrl + Middle mouse); admin switch "Blind fire allowed". Canting is now visible to everyone, its keys are swapped (Alt + Mouse 5 = left, Alt + Mouse 4 = right), and canted + leaning the same way reaches 9 cm further round the corner. Rested on cover the weapon is as steady as on the bipod, and aimed rested the sight no longer jumps. Every attachment counts through the weapon's weight; foregrips (also on Workshop weapons), brakes and compensators take some recoil.
