Summary
Gates arsenal stock, deploy presets and vehicles behind a faction progression tier
Description
Your faction starts with the basics and earns the rest.
Everything in a faction's armoury belongs to a tier. At an arsenal you are
shown your current tier's kit plus a locked preview of the next one, so you
can see what you are working towards. Anything higher is not shown at all.
- Reaching a tier applies live: arsenals restock while you are stood at them,
the locked row opens, and your faction is told. The other side is not.
- Saved loadouts are checked too. A loadout containing something your faction
has not reached is refused when you save it, rather than being quietly
stripped the next time you spawn.
- Vehicles carry a tier as well, so the motor pool fills out as the faction
climbs.
DEPLOY PRESETS UNLOCK TOO
A loadout preset on the deploy screen can carry a tier of its own. One your
faction has not reached is hidden rather than greyed out, so the deploy screen
shows what can be taken today and grows as the faction climbs.
Presets for the same role also supersede one another: where several exist,
only the newest one the faction has actually reached is offered. A medic
preset authored for an early tier keeps appearing until a later one exists to
replace it, so the gallery stays one tile per role instead of a growing pile
of retired versions.
The tile a player can see and the loadout the server hands out are decided by
the same rule, so they cannot disagree. An open deploy menu refreshes when a
Game Master moves the tier. Presets belonging to other mods, and the arsenal
slots, are left alone.
WHAT GAME MASTERS SEE
A prefab can be tagged with the tier it belongs to, and the content browser
marks any card above the faction's current tier with a padlock.
It is a hint, not a block. The card stays selectable and placement is
untouched - staging the next objective with over-tier troops is often exactly
what a mission wants, and a faction's tier can move under a placement at any
time.
WHERE THE TIER COMES FROM IS UP TO YOUR SERVER
A Game Master can set it straight from the editor. Or load ATG Scenario and
it is earned: complete objectives, bank the score, and the armoury opens on
its own.
Setting up your own faction? A whole catalogue file can be declared as one
tier in a single line, instead of stamping the tier onto every rifle in it.
Works on any map, with any faction, including the vanilla ones.
Requires ATG Core, loaded first.
