The Operator

The Operator is a tall, faceless figure that stalks players (never AI). It works in single player, player-hosted games and dedicated servers.

- It teleports around one player at a time, usually far away and behind you. Look at it and it vanishes.
- As time passes it gets closer and bolder. Seeing it brings static to the edges of your screen; staring at it too long, or letting it get too close, is fatal.
- In multiplayer it prefers players who are alone and moves between targets.
- Nearby lights flicker when it is close.
- Optional knife-wielding proxies and a camcorder-style HUD.

Ambient mode is on by default and adds the Operator to any scenario (Conflict, Game Master and others). Server owners can turn it off with the launch parameter -operatorOff.
Other launch parameters: -operatorProxies / -operatorNoProxies, -operatorCameraHud / -operatorNoCameraHud.

Content packs can build missions on top of this mod.
