V-King NVG ATAK - Test version

by Loic.L VKing

0.1.9

Restore native CDD night vision presentation. The custom peripheral and enlarged lens compositor is temporarily disabled so the original device HDR, grain, mask and first-person weapon rendering remain owned by CDD/RHS and the game camera. Keep ATAK integration, HUD, fusion model restrictions and RHS interaction safeguards. Natural peripheral view and custom enlarged R13 optics are suspended pending a separately validated implementation.

0.1.8

JVN 0.1.8 - Test version
- Keep peripheral-camera and thermal-outline updates independent of inventory/menu errors, using a local POSTFRAME driver.
- Guard incomplete RHS cloth actions so they cannot abort the equipment radial menu, including ATAK access.
- Preserve the published R13 lens/housing textures, thermal compatibility list and saved HUD settings.
- Native tests cover actual Kova device power/menu, F-BINO and GPNVG day/night views, including 3440x1440. This update does not redesign the lens geometry.

0.1.7

GPNVG R13: preserved lens and housing shapes, enlarged uniformly by 12% to leave more room for the HUD. The visible lens area now follows the transparent housing openings all the way to their rims. The scene outside the openings remains natural and untinted, with the native CDD night-vision colour and gain retained inside.

The lower HUD information moves down with the enlarged openings; the compass keeps clearance below the upper rim. World and HUD projection remain aligned across conventional and ultrawide displays. The R13 housing is a preserved static visual, not a new eye-dependent 3D model. The gap near the mount has been filled without changing the opaque housing artwork.

Panoramic first-person view preserves a wider player FOV and maintains the existing 97-degree horizontal minimum when the player selects a narrower FOV. Raising the goggles restores normal view and body camera masks. Weapon sight cameras keep their own optics.

Validated locally with the 138-mod Anizay pack at 1920x1080, 2560x1440, 2560x1080, 3440x1440 and 3840x1600. Full 3440 regression covers VKE application, ATAK routing, HUD settings, weapon aiming and goggles on/off. Dedicated JSON startup without private test fixtures also passes. Long multiplayer sessions and GPU frame time remain unbenchmarked; this does not certify the separate full Freedom Fighters pack.

Thermal fusion remains restricted to the six approved CDD F-BINO/F-PANO variants. Standard GPNVG receives the HUD without thermal fusion. Workshop identity and the existing Test version cover are retained.

0.1.6

Panoramic CDD goggles now use a substantially wider lens opening. A first-person camera adjustment provides at least 97 degrees horizontally through the panoramic opening on conventional and ultrawide displays, preserving an existing wider player FOV. The normal first-person field returns when the goggles are raised; weapon sight cameras keep their own optics.

The lens surround is rendered from the equipped CDD item's native model and materials in a separate preview world. Only the ocular rim is composited around the live night-vision scene; the peripheral scene remains natural and untinted. No device or physics object is spawned in the player world for this surround.

The curved compass, tactical plot and low status/navigation information are retained. Fusion remains restricted to the six approved F-BINO/F-PANO variants; standard GPNVG models receive the HUD without thermal fusion. The existing Test version cover and Workshop identity are retained.

0.1.5

Enlarged CDD NVG lens openings with an ordinary, untinted peripheral scene outside the lenses. Retains the equipped CDD device's lens frame and its original night-vision colour and grain inside the lenses.

The curved compass, tactical plot and low navigation/status information remain inside the lens area. The six previously approved F-BINO/F-PANO variants remain the only models permitted to use fusion; other supported CDD goggles retain HUD access.

The peripheral view follows the live player camera and restores the normal scene when the goggles are switched off. Tested in first person with equipped weapons, the published VKE 1.3.3 and the complete 138-mod pack using F-BINO at 3440x1440 and F-PANO at 1920x1080. Existing Test version cover retained.

0.1.4

Refined NVG navigation HUD with a subtle curved compass and a small heading-up tactical plot at the lower left. Keeps the sight picture clear and navigation/status information at the bottom of the CDD lenses.

The plot shows available allied ATAK contacts, waypoints, the actual valid ATAK route, personal CAS points and supported K9 markers. Selected destinations and buddies have priority. No terrain imagery or enemy detection is added.

Toggle the tactical plot and cycle its radius through 100, 250 and 500 metres from ATAK or the RHS NVG settings menu. Settings are saved independently from fusion; older saved HUD preferences migrate automatically.

Compact turn guidance, quieter compass direction pips and lower alerts improve readability. Tested with the complete 138-mod pack, real server-calculated ATAK routes and native CDD lens rendering at 1280x720 and 3440x1440.

0.1.3

Moved the lower navigation and ATAK/fusion status block closer to the lower edge of the CDD NVG lens, keeping the center of vision clearer.

0.1.2

0.1.1

Fix dedicated server startup through server JSON: VKNG_Preferences and four related utility classes now load in GameLib, alongside the classes that use them. Resolves "Unknown type VKNG_Preferences" / "Can't compile GameLib" when addons are activated after initial engine startup.
HUD, fusion compatibility, navigation, commands and saved preferences are unchanged. Validated against the complete 138-mod pack with JSON-only server startup and a client/server connection test.
Explicit dependency on the existing MH-60 Tweaks WCS 8.3 Fix for the Air Assets dependency chain. This compatibility mod is already included in the 138-mod server pack.
