Summary

# LHDF Loot Spawner

Loot in buildings and on open ground, spawned near players and removed when nobody is near.

Description

# LHDF Loot Spawner

Loot in buildings and on open ground, spawned near players and removed when nobody is near. Part of the
Lost Hope Dynamic Framework (LHDF).

Loot spawns inside Loot Areas. You place them in Workbench, as a Game Master, or list them in a JSON
file. Each building in an area gets a loot type (residential, medical, police, military, commercial,
industrial) from its map descriptor and prefab path. Its loot spots (floors, tables, upper storeys,
cellars) are measured once per building prefab and cached. When a player comes close, the building rolls
its spots and the items appear one by one. When nobody has been near for a while, untouched loot is
removed. The roll is kept, so the same items come back on the next visit until the respawn time is over.
An item a player takes belongs to them and is saved with them.

## Features

- Loot Areas: circle or rectangle, with loot mode, density, respawn time, item limit, loot in
buildings on or off, and loot spots on open ground. Where areas overlap, the smallest area wins.
- Loot outside areas (world loot) can be switched on for the whole map with `worldLoot`.
- Five loot modes: survival, survival_plus, military, medical, industrial. Each mode sets chances, item
counts per building type, categories and tiers. The server mode applies, an area can pick another.
- A pool of 111 vanilla items in 13 categories (food, medical, tools, clothing, headgear, vests,
backpacks, handguns, rifles, machine guns, launchers, ammo, explosives) and three tiers (basic,
  military, rare).
- Named locations (city, town, village, base, airport, port and others) raise or lower loot chances.
- Magazines, loose or in a weapon, get a random fill.
- Limits for loot items in the whole world and per area.
- Taken loot is saved with the player. Loot moved away from its spot counts as taken and is handed to
  the garbage system.
- Game Master: "Loot Area (LHDF Loot Spawner)" under Systems, with every area setting, "Refresh loot now"
  and "Write loot report".
- Loot report on request: an HTML page in the server profile (`LootSpawner/LootReport.html`) with every
area, what each mode rolls per building type, and a whole-map view. Open it in a browser.
- Other mods can add their own loot pool.

## Required on server and clients

Yes. Server and all clients must load the mod.

## Dependencies

- Arma Reforger
- LHDF Core

## Configuration

Settings are in `$profile:LHDF/<namespace>/LootSpawner.json`. Data files are in
`$profile:LHDF/<namespace>/LootSpawner/`. You only write the keys you want to change. On every start the
server writes every settings key with its default and description to `_defaults/LootSpawner.json` and
`_defaults/LootSpawner.md`. The server never writes your own files.

Main keys of `LootSpawner.json`:

- `enabled` (true): master switch, also for Loot Areas.
- `mode` (survival): loot mode of the server.
- `worldLoot` (false): loot in buildings outside Loot Areas.
- `activationRadius` (150 m): buildings this close to a player get their loot.
- `despawnRadius` (250 m) and `despawnSeconds` (90): untouched loot is removed when nobody was this close
  for this long.
- `respawnMinutes` (60): a spot rolls again this long after its last roll.
- `maxItems` (3000): most loot items in the world at once.
- `defaultBuildingType` (residential): type of buildings no rule matches. Empty: no loot there.
- `excludedPathParts`, `blacklist`: buildings without loot, and items that never spawn.

Data files (all optional):

- `Modes.json`: change fields of a shipped mode, or add a mode.
- `Pool.json`: change, disable or add items and categories.
- `Rules.json`: location rules (radius, chance multiplier, building type) and building type rules.
- `Areas.json`: standalone Loot Areas with a position, or profiles for areas placed with a Config Id.

## Known limitations

- Loot spawns only in Loot Areas by default. Without areas and with `worldLoot` off, there is no loot.
- Loot that lies untouched, rolls and respawn timers are not saved. After a restart, loot is rolled
  again.
- No loot in containers or vehicles, no item condition, no random attachments.
