Realistic Recoil gives player-controlled firearms a sharp initial kick, natural recovery, and sustained muzzle rise that requires active correction. Each shot is tuned using the fired bullet’s mass and nominal muzzle velocity, the loaded weapon’s weight, and estimated gas impulse and shooter support. Caliber is read from the projectile, but it does not add an arbitrary recoil multiplier.
The mod works automatically with vanilla guns and custom firearms that use Reforger’s standard weapon and recoil components. It preserves native recoil timing, stance, bipod, and attachment effects. It does not change damage, accuracy, ammunition, or rate of fire. Enable it on the server and clients for multiplayer.
Gas impulse and shooter biomechanics are calibrated estimates, not measurements of a specific firearm or person. Custom scripted recoil systems may need a compatibility patch. Other recoil overhauls are not supported alongside this mod.
