Summary
** PRE-RELEASE **
Place cameras on walls, vehicles, trees and ceilings and watch them live on a handheld tablet. Look around, zoom, switch feeds, night vision.
Description
Place a camera, walk away, watch it on your tablet.
- Camera: place it like an explosive charge on a wall, tree, ceiling or vehicle. Pick it up again any time. It goes offline when shot.
- Vehicles: cameras work on vehicles too and move along with them while you drive.
- Tablet: shows the cameras you placed while carrying it. Press I, or take the tablet out.
- Feed: look around, zoom, switch between cameras.
- Night vision: green image with automatic gain and an infrared light only the viewer sees. The light reaches about 45 m; further away the image relies on the automatic gain.
- Picture quality: low, medium, high or ultra. It starts on low, which runs on any PC; press Q in the feed to raise it. Your choice is remembered.
- Sound: while a feed is open you hear what is around the camera, not what is around yourself.
CONTROLS
- Open / close tablet: I
- Close feed: Esc or Backspace (gamepad: B)
- Switch camera: A / D (LB / RB)
- Look: mouse (right stick)
- Zoom: mouse wheel or W / S (left stick)
- Night vision: N (Y)
- Picture quality: Q (X)
- Reset view: R (right stick click)
Keys can be changed in Settings > Controls > Deployable Cameras.
WHERE
US, USSR and FIA arsenals: camera under explosives, tablet under equipment. Game Master: both under Systems.
OTHER MODS
No other mods required. The feed is drawn as its own picture and leaves the effects on your own view alone, so night vision mods (NV-System, RHS, WCS) keep working. While a feed is open only its own keys and voice chat respond.
MULTIPLAYER
Needs the mod on the server and on every client. Tested on a dedicated server with a connected player and as the host of a player-hosted game. A camera far away from you still shows the soldiers and vehicles around it.
DISTANCES
- Viewing: there is no maximum distance between you and a camera.
- Soldiers and vehicles are shown in full detail within 350 m of the camera (up to 48 at a time, nearest first).
- Night vision infrared light: about 45 m.
- Status LED (red): small, only visible from close by at night (roughly 5 m), not by day.
- The camera itself is small: beyond roughly 30 m it is only a pixel or less.
