Summary
Call a C-130 to airdrop supplies, a faction arsenal or a light vehicle on your map marker. Netted loads parachute in, then you unpack them on site. No dependencies.
Description
C-130 AIRDROP - "HERC 2-1"
Call in a C-130 Hercules that flies over your mark and drops supplies, an arsenal crate or a light vehicle on a parachute. The load comes down rigged like the real thing, under a camo net with straps and chute packs, and players unpack it on the ground. No logi run needed to restock a captured point or get back on the road.
See it in action on the Hold The Line server (PvE, US vs Insurgents): search "Hold The Line" in the server browser.
HOW TO CALL IT IN
1. Open the map and place a marker on the drop zone with one of these names:
- DROP SUPPLY
- DROP AMMO
- DROP VEHICLE
2. Herc 2-1 copies your mark on the radio. The drop comes in about 20 seconds later.
3. The load leaves the ramp, the chute opens, and it lands on your marker about 25 seconds later.
4. Walk up to the load and hold the unpack action.
THE DROPS
- Supply drop: a netted supply bundle. Unpacks into a supply crate with 1,000 supplies, enough to start a FOB or restock a point you just captured.
- Ammo drop: unpacks into an arsenal crate for your side. It uses your faction's own arsenal, so it works with vanilla and modded factions (RHS and others). You get your side's weapons, ammo, mines and AT.
- Vehicle drop: a vehicle rigged on a heavy-drop platform (wrapped in camo net, honeycomb padding and tie-down straps). When you unpack it, you choose which vehicle you want:
- US: open jeep, armed jeep (M2), open Humvee, armed Humvee (M2)
- Russian: open UAZ, covered UAZ, armed UAZ (PKM), UAZ van
- Other factions: open UAZ, covered UAZ, armed UAZ (PKM), armed UAZ (UK-59)
THE DROP
- The C-130 flies in straight and level from a random direction, holding one speed the whole way.
- The load leaves the ramp, free-falls for a moment, then the chute opens. Bundles come down on one parachute, vehicles on two.
- On touchdown the canopy collapses and falls over beside the load.
- A thin stream of green smoke marks the load until it's unpacked.
RADIO
The player who called the drop and anyone within 2 km of the drop zone hear Herc 2-1 on the radio: copy your mark, load away with a touchdown time, and on the ground.
COOLDOWN
10 minutes per drop type: supply, ammo and vehicle each have their own timer. Only one C-130 flies at a time. Call while it's busy or cooling down and Herc 2-1 tells you how long to wait.
SERVER SETTINGS
The first time it runs, the server creates C130_Airdrop.json in its profile folder. Edit it to change the cooldowns, the supply amount, the arsenal crate used, or the four vehicle choices for each side.
COMPATIBILITY
- No dependencies. Uses vanilla map markers and base-game crates and vehicles.
- Works with vanilla and modded factions: the arsenal crate and vehicle take the side of the player who called the drop.
- The server runs the drop and every player sees the aircraft and parachute locally. Built for dedicated servers.
