CIE_HoldBreath

CIE_HoldBreath adds a hold-breath mechanic for sniper rifles and supported marksman rifles. Holding your breath reduces scope sway and consumes stamina. Stabilization automatically scales with weapon weight: heavier rifles retain more sway. The mechanic includes inhale, exhale, and recovery breathing sounds.
To use it, aim through your sights and hold Left Ctrl. Default controller bindings are LB + RB on Xbox and L1 + R1 on PlayStation. Release the buttons to stop holding your breath. The default maximum duration is 5 seconds. Stamina regeneration pauses while holding your breath and for 1.5 seconds afterward. Bindings can be changed under Settings → Controls → Hold Breath.
To support additional weapons on your server, create a separate configuration addon:
Add CIE_HoldBreath and the required weapon addons as dependencies of your Workbench project.
Locate Configs/CIE_HoldBreath/Settings.conf in CIE_HoldBreath. Right-click it and select Override in… / Override to…, choosing your addon. Use this resource override to preserve the original resource identity. Bohemia’s resource override guide.
Open the overridden config and add the required weapon’s .et prefab to AllowList using the resource picker. Keep existing entries.
Select the exact prefab issued to players. Matching is exact: adding a base prefab does not automatically include all its variants.
Save, run Validate and Reload Scripts, publish your configuration addon, and load it alongside CIE_HoldBreath on the server and clients.
Weapons classified as WT_SNIPERRIFLE are supported automatically. AllowList enables weapons with a different classification without modifying their prefabs. DenyList takes priority over AllowList.
Keep UseWeaponWeight = 1 to calculate stabilization automatically from weapon weight. Setting SniperOnly = 0 also enables all weapons classified as WT_RIFLE.
