Same Faction Lasers makes infrared gear safe to use at night on PvP servers.
On many servers the opposing side kills players, takes their night vision, and then spots everyone who is still running an IR laser or strobe. The result is that nobody uses IR at all. With this mod, IR light can only be seen by players of the same faction as the person carrying the device.
How it works
IR lasers, IR illuminators and IR strobes (from Attachment Framework + NV-System) are drawn only for viewers in the exact same faction as the carrier.
Allied factions don't count. It has to be the same faction.
Unconscious carriers still count as alive, so their IR stays visible to their team.
IR from a dead carrier, or from a device nobody is carrying (dropped on the ground, or left in a vehicle or crate), is visible to no one.
If someone picks a device up, it immediately follows the new carrier's faction.
AI-carried IR follows the same rule.
Players without a faction (Game Master, spectators, players who haven't picked a side yet) see all IR.
It all happens on each player's machine. Nothing extra is sent over the network.
