TAC-EW

TAC-EW adds a SIGINT (signals intelligence) app to your Kova ATAK tablet. Intercept radio traffic, find WiFi networks, hunt radars and towers, and track aircraft, using only what a real receiver could pick up.

HOW IT WORKS
- Works in any mission or world. Load the mod and it runs. Nothing to place
- Four tabs: PTT (radio), WIFI, EMIT (radars and towers), AIR (aircraft)
- Signal strength falls with distance and is weakened by terrain and buildings
- Everything you find is saved in a logbook on your own tablet

PTT: RADIO
- Every AI group has its own net and frequency. When someone keys up, it shows live on your tablet
- Only living, conscious soldiers carrying a powered radio can transmit. Kill the radio operator and that voice goes quiet
- Players show up too when they hold push-to-talk on a radio. Direct speech is never intercepted
- List shows frequency, side (BLUFOR, OPFOR, INDFOR, CIV) and dBm, with a side filter. Base game and RHS factions are sorted automatically
- Tap a row to pin it. Pins stay at the top and are saved
- High gain finds distant signals, low gain narrows in on a close one (close signals peg out as SAT)

WIFI
- Every home, shop, office, school and military building has its own access point with name, MAC, channel and security (open, WEP, WPA2). Some are hidden. Players' tablets appear as hotspots
- A WiFi adapter hears further than a phone connects, but every wall weakens the signal
- Pin a network and walk toward it. Get within a few metres of the building and it is located
- With a network pinned and in range you see DEVICES CONNECTED: the exact number of living people, players and AI, inside the building

EMIT: RADARS AND TOWERS
- Finds approach radars, transmitter towers, airport antennas and control towers anywhere on the map
- Radars sweep, so the signal pulses as the beam passes you. Hills block the signal and the radio horizon limits range
- Pin one and hunt it by signal strength until it is located. No compass, by design

AIR: AIRCRAFT (ADS-B)
- Works like an ADS-B receiver. Any helicopter or plane in the air is listed, modded ones too
- Shows hex ID, type, side, altitude, distance and bearing. Terrain and the radio horizon decide what you can hear
- Pin one to follow it

MAP MARKERS (OFF BY DEFAULT)
WiFi circles and aircraft dots can be drawn on the ATAK map. Press the MAP button on the WIFI or AIR tab to turn them on. Nothing is added to the map for players who don't use SIGINT.

FOR SERVER OWNERS
- Starts itself on the server and every client. To change settings, add one SIGINT_TxScheduler component to any entity and assign the SIGINT_Transmission.et prefab. If one is placed, it is used instead of the automatic one
- Settings: radio interval, length, range and receiver gain, player distance for AI traffic, hear-own-transmissions, require radio, WiFi on/off, range and chance, and EMIT and AIR on/off
- Performance: the signal model only runs while the app is open on that tab. The server finds radars and towers once, in small steps. Radio traffic is only simulated near players

PLANNED
- GM tools to keep frequencies the same across restarts
- Cellular emitters (IMEIs)

NOTES
- AI frequencies re-randomize on each server restart until the GM tools are added
- Unknown mod factions show as INDFOR. Tell me which to add

REQUIREMENTS
Kova x ATAK and Kova x ATAK Plugin Core. Load order: Kova x ATAK, Plugin Core, then TAC-EW. Servers need both too.

Built as a plugin for Kova x ATAK by KOVA (Workshop author: gaz8157). It uses the published plugin interface and registers through the plugin registry. All credit for the tablet, framework and plugin system goes to KOVA. This is an independent plugin and is not made or supported by KOVA.
