Summary
RES LOADOUTS adds a clean loadout editor to every arsenal box: pick a slot, swap gear or build modular guns part by part, with a live preview. Saved kits are backed up on the server.
Description
Walk up to any arsenal box, hold the interact key and choose "RES LOADOUTS: edit loadout".
WHAT YOU GET
- The whole left side is one list that steps through your gear: your slots, then the gear for the slot you chose, then the parts of what you wear or carry. The back button always steps out one level.
- The whole right side is a big live preview. It follows the slot you are changing: a small figure lights the part of the body (head, torso, hands, legs, feet) and a backpack turns your soldier around to show his back.
- MODULAR GUNS: your weapons are listed with their attachment slots (optic, muzzle, stock, grip, handguard, sights... whatever the gun has). Choose a slot, pick a part, see it on the gun in the preview.
- Helmet and vest parts (night vision, headsets, masks, pouches...) are their own slots - for any gear that has them, as deep as it goes.
- Slots that other mods add to your soldier appear under "MORE GEAR" only while those mods are running.
- Weight, price and rank at the top; weight updates as you change gear.
- Only items that really fit are listed. Items you can't take say why (rank too low, clashes with something fitted...). Items the server would not sell are not offered at all.
- Scroll bar, mouse wheel, page buttons and a selection that always stays in view - nothing is cut off, on any screen shape.
- Search box, sorted lists (your current item first, locked items last).
- One key to save your kit (uses the game's own "save loadout", same rules as the normal save action).
- SAVED KITS ARE BACKED UP ON THE SERVER: a kit you save survives server restarts, crashes and new matches - no world saving needed. You join, your kit is there.
FOR SERVER ADMINS - the kit backup
- Every saved kit is also written to the server's profile folder: <profile>/RES_Loadouts/kits/<player identity>.json (the previous good copy sits beside it as .bak). One small set of files per player; copy the folder to back it up or move it to another server.
- A kit is written the moment it is saved and read back when the player joins. A kit is never deleted automatically: if the game can't apply it (another faction, a mod that is gone) the file stays until the player saves a new one. To wipe one player's kit, stop the server, delete all of that player's files in the kits folder (.json, .bak and any .tmp / .unreadable) and start it again.
- When a game master clears all saved kits, the files are moved to kits_cleared/ (not deleted), so they don't come back.
- Players are told apart by their identity (the server must be connected to the game's backend, as for any saved data). Without an identity there is no backup for that player.
- Works with or without the game's own world saving, and does not change how kits work in any other way.
FAIR PLAY
Nothing is bypassed. Every change is a normal arsenal request that the server checks exactly like the vanilla arsenal: range, supplies, allowances and what the arsenal sells. Rank limits are applied by the screen, as in the vanilla arsenal, and again by the server when a kit is saved. If a swap is refused, your old item is put back when this arsenal sells it (gear from elsewhere can't come back - the screen tells you). Like selling it in the vanilla inventory, a swap returns the worn item to the arsenal together with anything inside it or attached to it.
COMPATIBILITY
- Adds one action to the standard arsenal box (all factions). No scripts are replaced.
- Works next to other arsenal and loadout mods; their gear and their gun parts show up in the lists when the arsenal sells them.
- Not a gameplay mod: it changes no balance, no weapons and no spawning.
