Summary
Client-side tactical headset simulation with four protection levels, passive earplugs, equipment-based activation, and a minimal HUD.
Description
CENTURIA Active Hearing brings active tactical headset functionality to Arma Reforger.
Control loud gunfire, explosions, and vehicle noise while keeping footsteps, environmental detail, and communication audible. A subtle headset sound signature adds the feeling of listening through electronic hearing protection.
Features
Four active protection levels: 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%.
Selective processing of loud sounds instead of simply lowering the entire game volume.
A separate earplugs mode that reduces overall volume, including voice.
Active modes require a supported headset or helmet with integrated hearing protection in your inventory (server-configurable in appropriate config.json in profile folder).
Without supported equipment, earplugs remain available.
Minimal HUD with a headset or earplugs icon.
Local audio processing: each player controls their own mode.
Controls
Press F2 to cycle:
OFF → 25% → 50% → 75% → 100% → Earplugs → OFF
The key can be rebound through the standard Controls settings. Each session starts with the system switched off.
Percentages represent protection presets, not literal volume reduction. Choose the level that suits your audio setup.
Compatibility
Works with vanilla audio. When using LunacyAudio, install the matching CENTURIA AH - Lunacy Adapter alongside both mods.
Other sound mods that replace the game’s audio mixer may require a dedicated compatibility adapter. Enable only one CENTURIA audio adapter at a time.
