Summary
USASOC AI F-22 Raptor
Description
USASOC AI F-22
An AI pilot for the F-22A Raptor. Put an AI in the seat and it flies itself: takes off, works its tasking, comes home, lands, rearms and waits for the next call. Callsign RAPTOR 1-1 to 1-3.
TWO MISSIONS
Close Air Support
Lase a target with the SOFLAM, pick RAPTOR on the AIR SUPPORT REQUEST screen and send. It wheels over the target, turns in, releases from stand-off and flies over the target on the way out. Choose the weapon, number of passes, attack heading and what it does when the runs are done.
Combat Air Patrol
Switch to the CAP tab, lase the centre of the patrol and send. The Raptor orbits the point and hunts on its own. Its radar picks up any enemy aircraft in the air, jets and helicopters, AI or player flown, inside the patrol radius. It calls the contact, turns in and shoots.
- AIM-120 from long range, AIM-9 closer in
- Patrol radius 1.5 / 2.5 / 4 / 6 km
- Never fires on US or USASOC aircraft
- Flares defeat most missiles fired at aircraft that use them
- Kills are called on the radio: "SPLASH 1, AIM-120"
A Raptor on patrol is still available. It shows as ON CAP, AVAILABLE on the request screen. Send it a CAS and it leaves the patrol, flies the runs, then goes back on station.
GAME MASTER
Place RWY START and RWY END on the runway centreline, put the F-22 within 400 m of RWY START with an AI pilot, then place a CAS marker. Set its Mission row to CAP for a patrol. RTB brings it home.
