Summary
A persistent USMC career for single-player: earn rank and real-world decorations from battle to battle. Die, and your Marine goes on the memorial.
Description
Every Marine has a record. This mod gives you one.
Service Record follows a single Marine through your whole campaign. Promotions take time in service and performance. Decorations follow the USMC order of precedence. If you're killed, that Marine's record is closed for good, and a new Private reports in to take his place.
RANK
- Enlisted: Private through Sergeant Major
- Officers: a Sergeant or above with a clean record can be selected for a commission. Accept it and rise from Second Lieutenant to Colonel, or stay enlisted. It's your call.
- Promotions need both battles survived and XP, like time-in-grade plus a composite score
- Earn a Silver Star or higher for a meritorious promotion
AWARDS & DECORATIONS
- Valor: Medal of Honor, Navy Cross, Silver Star, Bronze Star with "V", Navy & Marine Corps Commendation and Achievement Medals with "V"
- Purple Heart for wounds, posthumous if killed in action
- Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Unit Commendation, Good Conduct Medal
- Service: National Defense, Global War on Terrorism, Afghanistan Campaign, NATO (ISAF) and Sea Service Deployment
- Rifle Marksman, Sharpshooter and Expert badges, earned by confirmed kill distance
SERVICE RECORD SCREEN
- A full ribbon rack in order of precedence, with gold, bronze and silver stars for repeat awards. Select any ribbon to see it up close, along with its citation: a write-up of what you did to earn it, in the style of a real award citation.
- Battles survived, wins and losses, confirmed kills, longest kill, times wounded, friendly-fire incidents
- A battle-by-battle log showing the awards earned in each
- In Memoriam: every Marine you've lost, with his rank, kills and decorations
- Opens automatically after each battle, or anytime from the pause menu
PERMADEATH
When your Marine is killed, his rank and awards stay with him on the memorial. His replacement starts as a Private.
COMPATIBILITY
- Designed for single-player
- Runs alongside other scenarios without changing their files
- Built and tested with Procedural Combat Middle East
CREDITS & INSPIRATION
- Inspired by "Hunter Six: Special Operation Unit," the Arma 3 single-player campaign by Lato, whose squad progression, medals and statistics screens set the bar. This mod is an independent tribute and contains no Hunter Six content.
- Built to accompany Procedural Combat and Procedural Combat Middle East by Hushmodee. Neither mod's files are included or modified. Go download them.
- Ribbon designs are based on public-domain U.S. government ribbon artwork from Wikimedia Commons.
- Award criteria are game stand-ins for real decorations and aren't meant to reflect actual citation standards. Respect to everyone who earned the real thing.
