Summary
USASOC AI A10
Description
USASOC AI A10
Give your Game Master a real close air support asset. Put an AI pilot in an A-10C and it handles everything itself: start-up, takeoff, gun runs, holding overhead and landing back on the strip. You run the whole thing with Game Master comment markers. No scripting or waypoints needed.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Place a RWY START comment at the start of your runway.
2. Place a RWY END comment at the far end.
3. Place the A-10 within 400 m of RWY START.
4. Put an AI character in the pilot seat.
5. Place a CAS comment on the target. Double-click it to set up the mission.
6. The Hog starts up, takes off and works the target.
7. When its runs are done it holds overhead until you need it again.
8. Place an RTB comment to send it home. It lands on the same strip and stops at RWY END.
9. It resets at RWY START, engines running and fully rearmed, ready for new tasking.
CAS OPTIONS (double-click the CAS comment)
- Gun runs: how many passes it makes
- Weapon: Auto, Gun, Rockets, Bombs or Maverick
- Attack direction: Auto or any of 8 compass directions
- Orbit height: 600 m to 2400 m
- Orbit size: 3 km to 8 km wheel
- Impact radius: keeps all ordnance inside 10 / 25 / 50 / 100 m of the marker
- Fire mission: Repeat sends the bird back in on the same target
FEATURES
- GAU-8 gun runs with the BRRRT, plus Hydra rockets, GBU-31 bombs and Mavericks
- Aggressive, A-10 style flying: hard roll-ins, dive attacks, climbing breaks and jinks off target
- Every pilot flies differently: dive angle, roll-in, break and speed are rolled per aircraft
- Several A-10s join up in formation, space out their attacks on the same target and take turns landing
- Move or edit a CAS marker mid-mission and the pilot picks up the change
- Engine sound audible from the ground throughout the flight
- Radio-style callouts in the log ("IN HOT FROM THE SOUTH-WEST", "BOMBS AWAY", "OFF, 2 RUNS LEFT")
REQUIREMENTS
- The A-10C Thunderbolt II mod by Awenzj (dependency)
- Game Master to place the markers
NOTES
- The pilot must be AI. If a player takes the seat, the autopilot stays off.
- Multiplayer and dedicated servers haven't been fully tested yet.License
