GSC X TWS Team Balance

A lightweight, robust, and server-authoritative team balancing solution for Arma Reforger. Designed to keep matches fair and prevent team stacking without performance overhead or stale data.

Key Features

- Server-Authoritative Enforcement: Prevents players from bypassing UI locks. Faction requests are validated directly on the server before assignment.
- Real-Time Engine Queries: Queries live player counts directly from the Enfusion engine via `GetPlayerCount()`. Fully stateless with zero cache delays or desync issues.
- Seamless UI Integration: Dynamically disables faction join buttons when a team reaches the maximum allowed difference, while strictly respecting vanilla player limits and server settings.
- Auto-Generating JSON Config: Automatically creates and updates its configuration file upon server boot. No complex setup required.
- Excluded Factions: Automatically ignores neutral or non-playable factions (e.g., FIA, CIV) so roleplay or admin slots never interfere with team balance.

Configuration

The configuration file is generated automatically at `$profile:GSC_Teambalance.json`:

{
 "m_iMaxPlayerDelta": 2,
 "m_bSystemEnabled": true,
 "m_bAllowFactionChange": false
}

Settings Overview:
- m_iMaxPlayerDelta (int): The maximum player difference allowed between teams before joining the larger team is locked.
- m_bSystemEnabled (bool): Easily toggle the balancer system on or off globally.
- m_bAllowFactionChange (bool): Determines whether players who are already assigned to a team are permitted to switch factions.
