A special thanks to FriendlyModder for the inspiration behind TLL_Metabolism.
TLL_Metabolism was heavily inspired by FriendlyModder's original metabolism system, following many of the same core concepts and mechanics.
The main differences are the use of custom 3D models and independently written scripts, developed to implement similar functionality while allowing for further customization and expansion within The Last Light project.
While the system follows the same general ideas introduced by FriendlyModder, the scripts and models used in TLL_Metabolism were created specifically for this project.
I want to give proper credit to FriendlyModder for the original concept and the work that inspired this implementation.
Thank you, FriendlyModder, for your contributions to the Arma Reforger modding community and for inspiring projects like this one!

TLL METABOLISM TLL Metabolism is a survival-focused system for Arma Reforger designed to add meaningful player needs beyond the standard combat experience. Built for The Last Light, the system introduces five core survival indicators: • FOOD Food gradually decreases over time. Players must find and consume food to stay nourished. • WATER Hydration decreases over time and must be restored by drinking water and other beverages. • ENERGY Represents the player's available energy and endurance, designed to integrate with stamina and physical activity. • BLOOD Represents the player's current blood level and is designed to reflect the character's actual medical condition. • HEALTH Provides a clear representation of the player's overall physical condition and actual character health. CONSUMABLE SYSTEM Food and drink items can directly affect multiple survival values. Different consumables can restore different amounts of: • Food • Water • Energy This allows individual items to have their own survival value rather than every consumable providing the same effect. Players can equip consumables and use contextual Eat or Drink actions through Arma Reforger's existing interaction system. MULTIPLAYER READY The metabolism system is designed around server-authoritative gameplay. Food, Water and Energy are replicated between the server and connected clients, helping keep survival values consistent in multiplayer environments. The system is being built with dedicated servers and persistent survival scenarios in mind. FULLY CONFIGURABLE Scenario and mod creators can configure values such as: • Starting Food • Maximum Food • Food drain rate • Starting Water • Maximum Water • Water drain rate • Starting Energy • Maximum Energy • Metabolism update interval • Individual consumable effects • Consumable use duration This makes the system suitable for anything from lighter survival gameplay to much harsher environments. DESIGNED TO EXPAND TLL Metabolism is being developed as a modular foundation for a larger survival experience. The completed system is designed around: • Food • Water • Energy / Stamina • Blood • Health • Consumable integration • Multiplayer replication • Survival HUD indicators • Medical integration • Additional survival effects BUILT FOR THE LAST LIGHT TLL Metabolism was originally created for The Last Light, a survival-focused Arma Reforger experience built around exploration, scavenging, progression and long-term survival. The system is kept separate from the core scenario so it can be developed, configured and expanded independently.
