ENDURE adds climate-driven survival to Arma Reforger: seasons, clothing wetness and insulation, heat and cold fatigue, hunger, thirst, canteens, MREs, cold breath, and a clear HUD for players and AI.

 Workshop description

ENDURE — Survival Systems brings environmental survival into Arma Reforger. The weather, your clothing, your load and your activity all affect how your character feels and performs. This build is configured for Pronto Brit Kit and is being tested with our realism unit. Its character systems are designed for players and AI; the HUD follows the character you control.

CURRENT FEATURES
• Climate presets for temperate Germany, arid Middle East, continental Russia and tropical Vietnam. Seasons follow the in-game month or can be set manually by Game Master, along with air temperature.
• Body temperature and thermal comfort respond to air temperature, wind, rain, immersion, movement, sweat and the clothing actually worn.
• Authored material profiles for the configured Pronto Brit Kit clothing and equipment. Garments soak and dry, lose insulation when wet, and gain the weight of retained water. Other gear has not been validated for this release.
• Heat and cold affect stamina, recovery and movement. Freezing hands gradually disturb rifle aim; gloves reduce the effect. Hot weather and heavy kit make recovery slower, while sweat and breathable clothing help cool the wearer.
• Hydration and food reserves, a four-drink US canteen, and a four-portion MRE. Refill from US mobile water tanks for clean water, or collect untreated water from detected natural water. Purification tablets make collected water safe after treatment. Drinking untreated water can cause delayed stomach illness. Remove a top and place it on the ground to pour canteen water onto it for temporary cooling.
• A compact, color-coded survival HUD, short condition messages, a persistent inventory comfort line, and item hover text showing remaining water or MRE portions.
• Visible breath in cold air, timed to the character's breathing and informed by ACE Medical respiratory state.

HOW TO USE THE CANTEEN
1. Drink: Hold the ENDURE US canteen and press R away from a water source, Each use consumes 250 ml; a full canteen holds four drinks.
2. Collect water: With room in the canteen, stand in a pond, creek, river or other detected water, hold the canteen and press R. It fills to one litre as untreated water. Coastal water currently follows the same untreated-water rule.
3. Purify water: Carry the water purification tablets. In inventory, drag the tablet bottle onto the untreated canteen you want to treat. One tablet treats that canteen, even when it is only partly full. Wait 90 seconds for its hover description to change from Purifying to Clean. Drinking before treatment finishes still carries the untreated-water illness risk.
4. Refill clean water: Hold a partly empty canteen beside a standard US mobile water tank and use Refill canteen. The three-second action fills it with clean water immediately.
5. Check the canteen's inventory hover description for its remaining water and whether it is Clean, Untreated or Purifying.

PLANNED FEATURES
• Save ENDURE needs, wet clothing and consumable amounts across sessions using Enfusion Persistence Framework; add persistent lockers and camping storage.
• Mud and dirt as a separate clothing contamination layer, with weather and terrain affecting buildup and washing.
• Illness and exposure consequences for prolonged cold, heat and other survival conditions.
• Source-specific water risks, salinity, and additional food and drink items.
• Improved shivering audio, broader equipment compatibility, and dedicated-server balance testing.

STATUS
ENDURE is in active development and currently supports the configured Pronto Brit Kit gear. Custom survival values do not yet have persistent save data, and dedicated-server multiplayer behavior still needs a full play test. Unsafe-water stomach illness is present; broader illnesses, mud and lockers are planned. Teeth-chatter audio is currently disabled.
