Smoke stacks dynamically react to the in-game date and time. Chimneys churn at 100% in the Winter, while Spring, Summer and Autumn rely on a smaller random chance.

Chimney smoke is tied directly to the building destruction logic, if a house or factory gets levelled by artillery the smoke instantly cuts out and disappears with the rubble.

Smoke stacks operate on randomized active/inactive timers, naturally staggering smoke activity across the land so it feels genuinely lived-in.
