Summary
An AN/PEQ-1 SOFLAM you can carry, assemble on a tripod and operate as a gunner. Four-digit codes, ranging, vehicle tracking, NVG and thermal. Guided weapons from other mods home in on its targets.
Description
An AN/PEQ-1 SOFLAM laser designator you can carry, assemble on a tripod and
operate as a gunner. It publishes code-matched laser targets that guided
weapons from other mods can home in on.
This is the CORE: designator, tripod and target registry. The aircraft side -
seekers, cockpit laser codes, HUD markers - lives in the aircraft mods.

STATUS
Actively developed and tested on a dedicated server: assembly, visibility for
every client, laser, code, ranging, night and thermal, entering the mount, and
tracking a driving vehicle. The known issues below are the real list, not a
disclaimer.
RECENTLY FIXED
- Tracking now shares the same state on every machine. The server ran its
own untracked copy of the aim logic and could occasionally out-race the
operator's correct aim with its own wrong one.
- Walking away from the device, or getting into another vehicle, no longer
drags the laser mark along with your new camera.
- A laser mark can no longer outlive its device after a lost network
message; it now also expires on its own if updates stop arriving.
- Each tripod leg now reaches uneven ground independently, while the base
itself stays level instead of tilting with the slope.
FEATURES
- Handheld, or assembled on the tripod and operated as a gunner
- Carry the folded tripod and a SOFLAM, drop the tripod, and "Assemble" builds
the two into one mount. A ghost shows the result before you commit. Packing
it up gives both parts back, separately. No entrenching tool needed.
- Four-digit laser code, 1-8 per digit. The last three are set on the device;
the first one is fixed
- Designate, or range-only mode that measures without marking a target
- Track a vehicle: the mount follows it while the mark stays on the hull.
Works from the gunner seat and while nobody is at the device.
- Sight with azimuth, elevation, code and range readout
- Night vision and thermal, with gain and filter adjustment
- Adjustable laser power; IR laser only visible to those who can see IR
- Tripod: telescopic legs and centre column, ball head. The mount rises, the
gunner stays on the ground.
- Designator and tripod in the US arsenal, vanilla entries untouched
- Laser code, state, power and target position replicate; late joiners sync
CONTROLS (rebindable under Settings > Controls > SOFLAM Integration)
T designate Y range only U track target
J vision mode RMB NVG/thermal
LSHIFT + wheel gain/filter H + wheel laser power
REQUIREMENTS
Arma Reforger, nothing else. This mod deliberately has no WCS Armaments
dependency, so it runs regardless of which WCS version your server is pinned to.
COMPATIBILITY
Do not run RVX_Core alongside this mod. Since WCS_Armaments 8.1.2 it no longer
compiles at all, and a compile error in any loaded mod takes down the entire
script module - nothing loads, for anyone. A bridge for Tactical Flava has been
evaluated and is planned.
KNOWN ISSUES
- The sight lags one step behind when the tripod height is changed very fast.
- Leg extension reaches 1.24 m, with the centre column 1.49 m. Higher needs
longer tubes in the model, not a larger setting.
- Leg 1 stands slightly steeper than the other two, so at full extension its
foot sits about 8 mm too low.
- Slight roll when pitching the device on the ball head. Not reproducible right
now, but not proven fixed either.
- Placing the tripod straight from a quick slot is not possible. That belongs to
a different vanilla system and would be a rebuild, not a setting.
