Summary
Expanding the excellent Ambient Civilians mod a bit.
Description
Liven up any session on any map with this mod!
1.0.10 CHANGELOG:
1. Set the default indoor spawn value to 70%.
2. Added settings persistence - no need to set the values to your preference on each run now. Configure the settings once and just use the main mod switch (and vehicles optionally) to get things running. The file is in $profile/THE_Mods/THE_AmbCivs/ - change the values which are not wired in settings either for debugging or at your own risk ;)
* MISC CHANGES:
- Changed some values preventing vehicles from spawning on modded maps.
- Added passengers to cars!
- Corrected vehicles spawns to avoid spawning across the road, trying to face alleged movement location now.
- Added indoor spawns. In these cases, units will consider the interiors their homes and head there in case of danger (still testing this, your AI mods may or may not help with this behavior). Also, be aware that this may cause problems on modded maps: mod is trying its best to spawn civilians closer to the exit for them to roam around, however they may still get stuck (in that case it will do its best to despawn them:) ). In case of problems - lower the indoor spawn slider in the settings or set it to 0 to return to stock Ambient Civilians behavior. There is also a percentage for units receiving an indoor waypoint from time to time, still WIP.
* FEATURE: Prefab scanner for custom vehicles and civilians (inspired by Arma 3 faction creation mods):
How to use:
1) place a number of units and vehicles in 50 m radius.
2) Find the 'Prefab Scanner' in 'System' category (still figuring out why its not searchable why text).
3) System will save your selection and cleanup the placed units in 5s (or open Scenario Properties and set Rescan Prefabs setting to Yes and apply if you are that impatient:) ). You can place particular units as drivers in the vehicles for the mod to recognize them as 'priority to set as a driver'. Otherwise, it will just assign drivers from the pool of on-foot units in the scanner's radius.
4) Saved units/vehicles will override the default spawn pool for units/vehicles (remove or clear the file $profile/THE_Mods/THE_AmbCivs/AmbientCivilians_ScannedPools.json to return to Ambient Civilians stock unit/vehicle pool).
Removed faction restrictions on purpose, place a few renegade/MEI units among civilians to spice things up - you will never know who one of the passengers in one of the spawned cars will be!). You can save a pool with BTRs and rf units and turn the mod into 'Ambient pidors' if you wish.
Attention !!! Got no idea if this works or can work in multiplayer. Only tested in Single Player GM and local COE2 sessions.
Let's make single player Reforger great again. Stay tuned and look for 'THE_' mods in the workshop!
