- Added: one admin-configured extra frequency ("Local") on the existing personal/squad radio
- Added: tuning to the Local frequency shrinks that radio's range to a configurable short distance (default 500m)
- Added: tuning away from Local instantly restores the radio's original vanilla range
- Added: Local frequency reachable via Q/E channel cycling, one step above Platoon (Squad -> ... -> Platoon -> Local)
- Added: Local frequency also reachable by manually dialing to it with the scroll wheel
- Added: "Local (<range>m)" channel label shown in the radio menu while tuned to it, matching vanilla's own label styling
- Added: label also shown correctly in the radial G-menu's frequency browser (Previous/Current/Next)
- Added: label persists correctly across VON/radio menu close and reopen
- Added: label shows just "Local" (no number) for the brief moment right after tuning in, until the actual configured range is confirmed — avoids ever flashing a wrong/stale number
- Added: per-server JSON config ($profile:ShortRangeRadio.json, admin-editable, auto-created with defaults on first run) for the local range and per-faction (US/USSR/FIA) local frequency
- Changed: nothing about default squad or platoon radio behavior — no new item, no new radio, no new channel slot, no prefab changes; fully opt-in
- Fixed: local range value is read from the transceiver's actual (server-authoritative, replicated) state rather than a client-local config file, so the label always reflects what the server admin actually configured
- Tested: confirmed working end-to-end on a live dedicated server, including a real multiplayer test with a second player (audible range cutoff verified, not just server-log level)- Game Version

- Fixed: local channel label could still briefly show the old range number right after tuning in (timing-dependent race, not reliably caught by the previous fix)

- Changed: while the local channel's actual range hasn't been confirmed yet after tuning in, the label now shows just "Local" instead of briefly showing a wrong/stale range number

- Fixed: local channel label briefly showed the old (vanilla) range instead of the configured value right after tuning in, until reopening the radio menu or pressing the key again

- Fixed: local channel label always showed the default 500m range instead of the server admin's configured value (client was reading its own local profile config, not the server's)

- Fixed the radio menu (G) not opening: a compile error was crashing the dedicated server entirely - Fixed the local-frequency label still needing a second Q/E press to update correctly on the first press

- Fixed a compile error in the previous update that prevented the dedicated server from starting at all (parameter name mismatch in an override)

- Reworked the fix again: stopped modifying the radio menu's input-handler class entirely (it was the root cause of the menu-won't-open bug in both previous attempts), the label is now corrected from a different, already-proven-safe file instead - Radio menu (G) should open normally again

- Reworked the instant-label fix using a smaller, safer patch (a static method instead of the input handler) after the previous version broke the radio menu entirely - Radio menu (G) should open normally again

- Temporarily reverted the previous update (instant channel-label fix) while investigating a report that the radio menu (G) doesn't open at all - testing whether this specific change is the cause - Everything else (range switching, Q/E cycling to Local, label persistence on menu reopen) is unaffected

- Fixed the actual root cause of the delayed "Local (<range>m)" label: the shared radio-menu input handler was unconditionally resetting the channel text right after every scroll/Q-E input, which then got silently overwritten again before it could render correctly - Label now updates instantly everywhere it's shown (radial menu, channel list), no more waiting or moving the mouse away

0.0.4
- Fixed: the "Local (<range>m)" label in the radio radial menu now appears instantly when tuning to the local frequency, instead of briefly showing the wrong squad name first - Added Q/E preset cycling: the local frequency is now reachable by cycling past Platoon, same as switching between squad and platoon channels - no need to manually dial in the exact frequency anymore - Local frequency label now persists correctly when closing and reopening the radio menu

- Fixed: the "Local (<range>m)" channel label would disappear when closing and reopening the radio/VON menu, even while still tuned to the local frequency - Label now correctly persists across menu reopens, not just immediately after tuning

0.0.2
- Added a proper channel label: the local frequency now shows as "Local (<range>m)" in the radio menu instead of a bare frequency number, matching how Platoon/Group channels display their names - Label automatically reverts to the normal squad callsign / Platoon label when tuning away from the local frequency - Purely cosmetic - no change to the range/frequency behavior itself
