Summary
A PvE layer on top of vanilla Conflict. Counter-attacks, QRF, mortars, road convoys and side missions. Drop-in prefabs for map makers. No scenario included — this is a mode for builders and servers.
Description
CONTENTION
Vanilla Conflict, made into a PvE campaign.
Everything you already know about Conflict stays exactly as it is — bases, supplies, arsenal, ranks, radio, XP, the task UI. Contention adds the layer on top: the map starts enemy-held, you take it one point at a time, and the enemy fights back.
WHAT IT ADDS
Linear objectives — only the active points can be seized. The next one is picked at random within a radius of your last capture, so a map plays a different order each time without ever sprawling.
Counter-attacks — take a point and the enemy comes for it in waves, then digs in. A live task tracks attackers remaining and waves still to come. They are allowed to take it back off you.
QRF — start seizing an enemy point and a fire team mounts up at another base, drives to you, dismounts and sweeps.
Mortars — crewed enemy pits shell your captured bases. You get a task to go find the pit and kill the crew. It rebuilds later.
Convoys — enemy-held points despatch crewed vehicles that run the roads point to point like they are moving supplies. Ambush them or leave them. Traffic thins as you push the enemy off the map.
Roaming patrols and garrisons — objectives are defended when they go live, with extra groups moving between enemy positions.
Side missions — destroy an enemy vehicle, recover an intel folder back to a friendly base, or clear a camp. Vanilla task UI, time limits and XP.
Scaling — garrisons and counter-attack waves grow by a group per six players, capped. A second objective opens at eight players, a third at sixteen.
Persistence — captured ground, live objectives and your progress are saved and restored on the next start, so a server restart resumes the campaign instead of wiping it.
