FF - Persistent Checkpoints

FF - Persistent Checkpoints

Summary

Makes Freedom Fighters checkpoints more stable, believable and persistent. All credit goes to Johnny Kerner for his amazing Freedom Fighters mod!

Description

FF – Persistent Checkpoints fixes and expands the checkpoint system of Freedom Fighters. Active roadblocks remain in place longer and remember both their controlling faction and exact surviving garrison—even after streaming out or restarting the server.

- Active checkpoints remain deployed for at least 120 minutes before their status is reconsidered.

- Checkpoint density still depends on the front line and hinterland, using adjusted probabilities to preserve Freedom Fighters’ intended balance.

- Checkpoint status, controlling faction and surviving garrison members persist across streaming and server restarts.

- If part of a checkpoint garrison is killed, only the actual survivors return when the checkpoint is streamed in again.

- Checkpoints do not automatically change faction when a nearby settlement changes hands. The old garrison must first be defeated or the checkpoint must later be dismantled through the normal decision cycle.

- FIA checkpoints may materialize once no player is within 150 metres, replacing Freedom Fighters’ much larger 800-metre exclusion distance.

- Physical AI can still be streamed out when nobody is nearby, keeping the system economical for the server.

The addon does not introduce new checkpoint locations. It improves the reliability, persistence and continuity of the existing Freedom Fighters checkpoints.

You can use this mod without the mod FreedomFighters_Reoccupation, if you only want to include features of FF - Persistent Checkpoints.
