Bring working electricity to your RP server. Every house becomes a household: lights you switch, a meter you feed, bills you dodge, and a breaker you will trip.
FEATURES
⚡ Working light switches — interaction points placed over building switch meshes toggle real room lighting.
💳 Prepaid meters — one per house. Players buy electric cards ($10/$25/$50 denominations supported), feed the meter, and watch the balance. A live readout shows balance, current load in watts, cost per hour, estimated time remaining, and total kWh used.
💰 Realistic billing — usage is billed per watt-hour: only what's switched on costs money, plus a small standing charge that drains even empty houses. Every rate, price, and timescale is configurable per meter.
🔌 Plug sockets & appliances — appliances are items players place anywhere in a room (with a live placement preview and rotation), then connect to a socket within range. They run where they stand, draw real wattage, and auto-disconnect if picked up. After a power cut, appliances resume when credit returns — lights wait for their switch, just like real life.
🔥 Breaker limits — every house has a maximum supply. Overload it and the whole house blacks out until someone resets the breaker at the meter.
🆘 Emergency credit — flat broke in the dark? Activate a borrowed buffer at the meter. Your next top-up repays it automatically. One emergency per top-up cycle.
🕵️ Meter tampering — with the right tools, a meter can be bypassed for free, unmetered power. But tampered meters carry permanent evidence visible on inspection — until the electric company repairs them with a consumable repair kit. A complete crime-and-consequence loop for police and electric company roleplay.
FOR SERVER OWNERS
This is a framework, not plug-and-play: entities (meters, lights, switches, sockets) are placed and configured per house in World Editor, wired together by entity names — no vanilla overrides, no prefab surgery. Item prefabs (cards, appliances, kits) are created by adding the included components to any item. Setup takes ~10 minutes per house; building house-type prefabs makes mass rollout fast.
Built multiplayer-ready: server-authoritative state, replicated via RplProps, with local-visual lighting for performance. Placed entities require an RplComponent (Rpl State Override: None, Streamable: Disabled).
NOTES
Meter state is currently in-memory (resets on server restart) — persistence integration is on the roadmap
