Civilians are far too simple and completely irrelevant in PVE mode. Well, SleeperCell is made for you.
So now, civilians can be your worst enemy. Watch your back-an infiltrator could be hiding among the civilians and kill you.
--
The Sleeper Cell mod allows mission makers to turn civilians into hidden hostile units.
Civilians can look harmless at first, but once players enter a configured area, some of them may reveal themselves as enemies after a customizable delay.
How to setup
1. Place the Detection Trigger
To enable the system in your mission, place the following trigger:
"SleeperCell_TriggerPlayerOnZone"
Prefab location:
"SleeperCell\Prefabs\Systems\Logic"
Place this trigger in the area where you want the sleeper system to activate.
This trigger detects players entering the zone and checks all civilians inside its radius.
All civilians located inside the trigger area can be affected by the system.
2. Configure the Trigger Area
You can adjust the size of the activation zone with:
"Sphere Radius"
"Trigger Radius"
These values define the area where players and civilians will be detected.
It is recommended to keep both values consistent, so the editor preview matches the actual in-game detection area.
If enabled, the detection sphere will be visible in-game.
This keeps the mission immersive and prevents players from seeing the activation zone.
5. Civilian Configuration
The mod automatically affects civilians because the modded civilian prefab overrides the vanilla civilian prefab.
Civilian prefab location:
SleeperCell\Prefabs\Characters\Factions\CIV
You do not need to manually add a script to every civilian.
Any civilian using this prefab can be handled by the Sleeper Cell system.
6. Sleeper Chance and Faction
To configure the chance for a civilian to become a sleeper, open:
"SCR_SleeperCivilianComponent"
In this component, you can change:
the percentage chance for a civilian to be a sleeper,
the faction assigned when the civilian is revealed.
the delay beforce civilans reveal themselves as sleepers
To enable the “reveal delay in seconds,” check the “Random Reveal Delay Second” box and set the minimum and maximum values; the “Reveal Delay Second” option is used to set a fixed value for the reveal delay in seconds.
Example values:
Sleeper Chance = 0
No civilian becomes a sleeper.
Sleeper Chance = 25
Each civilian has a 25% chance to become a sleeper.
To change the delay before civilians reveal themselves as sleepers, edit:
"Reveal Delay Second"
Examples:
Reveal Delay Second = 0
Sleepers reveal instantly.
Reveal Delay Second = 30
Sleepers reveal after 30 seconds, creating a slower and more suspenseful build-up.
7. Sleeper Equipment
To configure weapons and ammunition, open:
"SCR_SleeperEquipmentComponent"
This component allows you to define:
weapons,
ammunition,
equipment used when the civilian is revealed as a sleeper.
Make sure the selected ammunition matches the selected weapons.
Example Setup
You have the option of having the same weapons for all civilians (edit the base civilian).
Alternatively, edit the base settings for each type of civilian to assign different weapons. (Remember to remove the base configuration from the base civilian.)
For a village ambush scenario:
Trigger Radius = 80
Sphere Radius = 80
Reveal Delay Second = 15
Sleeper Chance = 30
Faction = OPFOR
Draw Shape = Disabled
Result:
When players enter the village, civilians inside the area are checked by the trigger.
Around 30% of them may become sleepers. After 15 seconds, hostile civilians reveal themselves and engage the players.
Quick Summary
The Sleeper Cell mod adds uncertainty and tension to civilian areas, forcing players to stay alert and never fully trust their surroundings.
