Spearhead Kunar Province

Kunar Province, Afghanistan — ODA 5111 operates throughout the rugged mountains and narrow valleys of Kunar Province, a region known for its dense forests, remote villages, and challenging terrain. Located along the border of Pakistan, the province has long served as a key area of operations due to persistent insurgent activity and difficult lines of communication. Success in Kunar depends on controlling key terrain, maintaining mobility through restrictive mountain passes, and building relationships with local communities.
