Town parking spots sit in neighbouring grid cells — we now keep a **3×3 activation ring** (like vanilla) with **550 m** cells instead of 1000 m. Still tighter than vanilla, but cars show up again in towns. --- ## [1.1.73] — 2026-06-29 ### Ambient streaming (MP performance) Tighter simulation radius on servers — less ambient AI and vehicles loaded far from players: - **Town civilians** — spawn/despawn ~450 m (was ~800 m vanilla). - **Road traffic** — spawns closer; abandoned traffic clears sooner when nobody is near. - **Parked empty cars** — map parking spots use a smaller grid (~450 m around you, not ~1.5 km). World may feel quieter until you approach a town or parking area. Recruitment tents, battles, and garrisons are unchanged.

When **`#war on`**, rival-faction PvP now follows clear, readable rules. **A weapon makes you a target — but only a recognizable faction uniform earns the right to kill rivals.** - **Uniform = license to kill.** To cleanly kill a rival player you must wear your faction's uniform: **pants + jacket + headwear** (cap **or** helmet). Short on your own kit? A full **USSR** set (the same three pieces) works as a stand-in. Boots aren't required. - **No more "civ snipers".** A civilian — or anyone out of uniform — who shoots a rival is now punished, **even with a weapon in hand**. Gear up before you pick a fight. - **Rival disguise is zapped.** Wearing the enemy faction's **jacket + headwear** during war gets you struck by lightning. Don't impersonate the other side. - **Clear feedback.** Every punishment now tells you **why** in chat — *"wear your faction uniform…"*, *"you killed a non-combatant civilian"*, *"rival uniform not allowed during war"*. No more mystery lightning strikes. - **Who can kill you is unchanged** — armed rivals, or anyone standing inside enemy territory. - **Peacetime = allies.** With war off, FIA and US are one team; none of these rules apply and you can wear whatever you like. **USSR AI and civilians stay PvE** at all times. > **Tip:** Headwear isn't guaranteed on a fresh FIA spawn — pick up a cap or helmet at your **FOB** or **captured-base equipment store** before heading into a fight.
