IronHorse La Fiere

As part of Mission Boston, the 507th and 505th Parachute Infantry Regiments of the 82nd Airborne were directed to seize the causeway at La Fiere along the Merderet river. In a mission that was meant to be completed before the sun set on June 6th, 1944, the 82nd would fight for three days over this small spit of land, opposed by the 1057th Grenadier Regiment and the 100th Replacement Tank Battalion on the west bank of the river. 

This map is of the local area around La Fiere. It is a work in progress and currently has the crossing itself, La Fiere, Cauquigny, and some of the surrounding area in Drop Zone "O".
