Summary
Sunglasses actually do something: a natural first-person lens tint and exposure drop when wearing RHS eyewear both worn or helmet-mounted. Extendable to any eyewear mod.
Description
Ever put on sunglasses in Reforger and felt... nothing? This fixes that.
15th MEU Shades gives tinted eyewear a real effect: wearing sunglasses darkens your view the way real lenses do — an exposure reduction that plays with the game's own eye adaptation — plus a subtle lens-colored hue. First person only, with smooth fade in/out on equip, unequip and camera changes. No effect in third person, on the map, or in spectator/editor cameras.
FEATURES
Realistic darkening: exposure bias in photographic EV stops, not a flat gray overlay. Bright skies get tamed harder than shadows, and the scene keeps its contrast.
Per-lens character: every supported eyewear has its own lens hue and strength.
Works both ways RHS lets you wear goggles: in the eyewear slot, or attached to a helmet.
Smooth fades tuned per item; ADS from third person correctly counts as first person.
Purely a client-side visual effect — no gameplay changes, nothing replicated.
SUPPORTED EYEWEAR (RHS Status Quo)
NPP Kondor — black, olive and tan, each with its own lens tone
Oakley SI Gascan — Multicam and Black (proper sunglasses, strongest tint)
ESS Crossbow — Tan and Black smoke lenses (light ballistic tint)
ESS Crossbow clear-lens variants stay untinted, as do NPP Strelok and 6B50 goggles
OTHER EYEWEAR MODS
Sunglasses from other mods work automatically when their prefab names contain "sunglass", "shades" or "aviator" — they get a sensible default smoke tint (aviators get the classic green G-15 look). Server owners and modders can extend or retune this list by overriding Configs/MEU_SunglassesTintRules.conf (standard same-GUID config override).
FOR MOD AUTHORS
Attach MEU_SunglassesTintComponent to any eyewear prefab and set four values: lens color, tint strength, exposure stops, fade times. That's the whole integration.
