MRS_Territory

Summary

Part of MRS Global Conflict

Description

### Territory zones
- Map divided into faction-controlled zones, one per base (weighted Voronoi)
- Each base holds the ground its influence reaches; zone size is dynamic
- Zone strength driven by:
  - **Signal** — influence propagates out from HQ through connected bases; bases cut off or spread too far run weaker and shrink
  - **Time held** — zones strengthen the longer they're held, up to 2× after ~72 in-game hours; resets on capture
  - **Player presence** — friendly players in a zone push its borders outward

*Note: the Signal system currently runs independently of the vanilla radio network — it doesn't yet depend on antennas, relays, or radio backpacks. Tying signal to the vanilla radio network is planned for a future update.*

### Front line
- Organic border between hostile factions that updates in real time
- No-man's-land buffer between enemies; narrows with strong signal, widens when pushed back

### Map overlay
- Colour-coded zone fills, solid front-line borders, dashed internal (same-faction) borders
- Tracks the map camera; toggle on/off
- Shows on the deploy, in-game, fullscreen, and Zeus maps

### Fog of war
- Enemy and neutral bases hidden from the map — must be scouted
- Enemy territory shown as a solid block with no internal detail
- Friendly bases shown and differentiated by type

### Base capture
- Capture enemy FOBs/OPs by interaction ("Capture Base"); halt with "Secure Base"
- Timer-driven — attacker can leave after starting; only completion or a defender ends it
- Capture speed scales with:
  - Attacker count — more attackers in the zone capture faster
  - Base development — services (armoury, helipad, barracks, hospital, vehicle depots) slow it down
  - Radio coverage — better-connected bases hold out longer
- Respawns locked during capture; marker, spawn, and territory flip to the new owner on capture

### Base types
- **MOB** — Main Operating Base / HQ; signal origin and largest zone
- **FOB** — Forward Operating Base; substantial foothold in contested ground
- **OP** — Observation Post; light, fast presence for grabbing and screening ground

### Game Master tools
- MOBs, FOBs, and OPs are Zeus-placeable; territory regenerates instantly on place/remove
- Bases can be set neutral to remove them from the territory map
