Summary
A fictional Middle-Eastern Communist country.
Description
The Al-Qahrian military is a patchwork of eras, blending surplus hardware from WW2 with modern Soviet exports. Because the military consumes over 60% of the national budget, it is the most well-funded—and most feared—institution in the country.
1. The Regular Army
The bulk of the force consists of conscripted Fellahin (farmers) serving their mandatory terms.
Uniform & Camouflage: Soldiers wear a distinct "spotted" desert camouflage, often featuring short-hemmed trousers and less combat-focused roles wear lightweight caps suited for the brutal heat.
The Mosin-Nagant Heritage: While front-line infantry are transitioning to the AK-series, the Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle remains the workhorse for secondary roles and marksmen.
2. QALA: The "SWAT" of Al-Qahra
Full Name: Quat Alqahiryan Limukafahat Al'iirhab QALA serves as the Republic’s elite anti-terrorist branch and high-stakes police force. They are the face of the government in the cities and are tasked with maintaining internal stability.
Appearance: Unlike the dusty camo of the regulars, QALA units wear dark olive uniforms, symbolizing their authority and distinct status from the common conscript.
Role: They specialize in urban intervention, counter-insurgency, and protecting the state from "internal agitators." They are significantly better trained and equipped than the regular infantry.
3. Special Forces
Full Name: Quat Tahsin Alnukhba Numbered only in the few thousands, the Quat Tahsin Alnukhba are the crown jewel of the Al-Qahrian military.
Selection: Drawn only from the most loyal and physically capable soldiers.
Capability: While the regular army focuses on holding ground, the Special Forces are used for deep-desert reconnaissance, sabotage, and high-priority strikes. They are the only units with consistent access to the most modern weaponry they can get their hands on.
