2-7 Self-Propelled Howitzers

Summary

First stable release featuring the M109A6 and 2S19 with physical ammo racks, manual loading, selectable charges, ACU/ASUNO ballistic computers and guided ammunition support.

Description

2-7 SELF-PROPELLED HOWITZERS

2-7 Self-Propelled Howitzers brings two crew-operated artillery platforms to Arma Reforger:

* M109A6 Paladin for US forces
* 2S19 MSTA-S for Russian forces

Both vehicles use a custom artillery framework focused on physical ammunition, manual loading, selectable propellant charges and coordinated crew operation.

VEHICLE VARIANTS

2S19 MSTA-S

* Base Green
* Camo
* Desert Camo

M109A6 PALADIN

* Base Green
* Base Desert

All variants provide the same gameplay functionality.

PHYSICAL AMMUNITION SYSTEM

Shells and propellant charges exist as separate physical items. The crew must carry, store and load them independently.

The firing cycle is:

Load Shell - Select Charge - Load Propellant - Wait for Gun Ready - Fire

The weapon cannot fire with only a shell loaded. A valid propellant charge must also be inserted, followed by a short readiness delay.

Five propellant configurations are supported:

* Charge 1
* Charge 2
* Charge 3
* Charge 4
* Charge 5

Each charge is a real inventory item. Loading it consumes one corresponding propellant and applies its ballistic configuration to the projectile.

Invalid states are blocked. Propellant cannot be loaded without a shell, and another charge cannot be inserted while one is already loaded.

PHYSICAL AMMUNITION RACKS

Both vehicles use synchronized physical ammunition racks tracking:

* Shell quantities
* Charge 1-5 quantities
* Individual ammunition types
* Physical ammunition visuals

Visible rack ammunition reflects the real vehicle inventory. Adding ammunition creates the correct visual in an available position. Removing or loading ammunition removes it.

Shells and propellant can also be unloaded directly into a crew member's hands for redistribution or resupply.

M109A6 PALADIN

The M109A6 uses manually handled 155 mm projectiles and fully combustible propellant charges.

Features include:

* Physical shell and propellant storage
* Manual shell and charge loading
* Selectable Charge 1-5 configurations
* Synchronized ammunition and weapon states
* Gun-readiness delay
* Conventional, SAL-guided and GPS-guided ammunition
* ACU ballistic computer from 2-7 Ballistic Computer

Because its propellant is fully combustible, the M109 does not eject a separate casing after firing.

2S19 MSTA-S

The 2S19 uses its own ammunition workflow and vehicle-specific loading equipment.

Features include:

* Physical shell and propellant storage
* Manual ammunition handling
* Selectable Charge 1-5 configurations
* Deployable and foldable loading mechanism
* Animated ammunition transfer
* Automatic distribution into available racks
* Conventional, SAL-guided and satellite-guided ammunition
* ASUNO ballistic computer from 2-7 Ballistic Computer
* Physical propellant casing ejection

The loading mechanism recognizes conventional shells, guided shells and propellant charges. Deploy, fold and load operations cannot overlap.

Unlike the M109, the 2S19 ejects the remaining propellant casing after firing. The casing uses physical velocity, rotation, movement randomization and a configurable lifetime.

BALLISTIC COMPUTERS

Both vehicles include faction-specific systems from the separate 2-7 Ballistic Computer mod:

* ACU - Artillery Control Unit for the M109A6
* ASUNO for the 2S19 MSTA-S

They provide ballistic calculation and fire-control for their respective vehicles. Full details are available on the 2-7 Ballistic Computer Workshop page.

PHYSICAL OPERATOR MANUALS

Both ACU and ASUNO include handheld, page-turnable physical manuals built from the Ballistic Table prefab's page system. The prefab was repurposed and rebuilt into dedicated 30+ page operator manuals containing controls, screens, setup, ammunition and guidance procedures, fire-mission workflows, troubleshooting and quick-reference information in the style of real military technical manuals.

SUPPORTED AMMUNITION

Cooperation between 2-7 Self-Propelled Howitzers, 2-7 Ballistic Computer and 2-7 Guidance System enables conventional, SAL-guided and GPS or satellite-guided ammunition.

UNITED STATES

* M107 - Conventional 155 mm HE
* M712 Copperhead - Semi-Active Laser guided
* M982 Excalibur - GPS guided

RUSSIAN FEDERATION

* OF-45 - Conventional 152 mm HE
* 2K25 Krasnopol - Semi-Active Laser guided
* K155 Krasnopol-M2 - Satellite guided

2-7 Self-Propelled Howitzers provides the vehicles, ammunition, racks, loading and firing systems.

2-7 Ballistic Computer provides ACU, ASUNO and ballistic calculation.

2-7 Guidance System provides the in-flight SAL and satellite guidance.

MULTIPLAYER SYNCHRONIZATION

Server-authoritative synchronized states include:

* Ammunition quantities
* Rack visuals
* Loaded shell and propellant states
* Selected charge
* Shell and fuze configuration
* Gun-readiness delay
* Completed firing state

This keeps the crew on the same vehicle state and prevents inconsistent ammunition consumption.
