Summary
Prevents civilian AI from running into roads and stops accidental player hostility in Arma Reforger.
Description
RoadSafety is a dual client-server mod for Arma Reforger that fixes a common AI issue: civilian NPCs sprinting into roads when a vehicle approaches, often resulting in AI deaths and players being flagged as hostile.
Features:
Server-side: Prevents civilians from sprinting into vehicles, pauses AI movement near roads, no impact on military or combat AI.
Client-side: Failsafe to clear accidental hostility and reputation flags if a civilian dies, ensuring gameplay continuity.
Fully compatible with multiplayer and dedicated servers.
Lightweight and optimized for large populations.
How it works:
The mod runs a small, local check around vehicles to identify nearby civilians and temporarily pauses their movement. This avoids accidental collisions without altering any combat AI or global behaviors. On the client, reputation is cleared if anything slips through.
Installation:
Server and all clients must have the mod enabled.
No mission files need modification.
Simply subscribe via Workshop and ensure it is active in the mod list.
Recommended for:
Server hosts looking to improve civilian AI behavior in towns and roadways.
Players who want to prevent accidental hostile flags from AI collisions.
