Summary
Colmar V2 is a work-in-progress terrain project inspired by the north-eastern area of Colmar, Alsace.
This project is a complete restart of the original Colmar map, which has been abandoned.
Description
The current version only represents the very beginning of the map, featuring the first fully built village: Sigolsheim.
The terrain is still under active development, with major content planned to be added over time.
⚠️ The map is WIP, and not finished.
Estimated completion: March.
Colmar V2 is a realistic terrain project aiming to recreate a coherent and believable portion of the Alsace region, with a strong focus on terrain readability, village layout realism, and infantry-oriented gameplay.
This map is the second iteration of the Colmar project.
The original Colmar terrain has been abandoned, and Colmar V2 starts from scratch, with improved scale, layout, and long-term vision.
At its current stage, the map only covers a small north-eastern section of the final terrain, centered around the first village: Sigolsheim.
Sigolsheim serves as the foundation of the entire project and defines the architectural style, village density, and overall atmosphere of the map.
The village of Sigolsheim includes:
- a realistic rural village layout
- clearly separated residential, agricultural, forest, and infrastructure areas
- terrain designed with infantry movement and line-of-sight in mind
- an environment suitable for tactical and narrative scenarios
The map is still in early development:
- several areas are incomplete or placeholders
- performance, AI navigation, and gameplay elements are not finalized
Development will continue with the creation of the second village: Kintzheim, which will extend the playable area further south-west and significantly increase terrain depth and variety.
The long-term goal is to deliver a realistic, immersive, and gameplay-oriented terrain suitable for PvE and PvP
scenarios, with careful attention to scale, terrain flow, and tactical possibilities.
Estimated end of development: March.
